Summer Event 2017 Feedback

Inno really getting stingy with diamond rewards all Events so far this year. I don't think there's been a single diamond reward in any event (aside from maybe if you got one as a random reward from a quest). Will this trend continue for the 2017 Fall and Winter Events as well?

Summer Event
2017 - No diamonds
2016 - 100 (from quest reward)
2015 - 250 (from quest reward)
2014 - 250 (from quest reward)
2013 - (no quest reward I could find online) (50 & 200 rewards wheel I think)

To be fair, it was quite a lot of free and guaranteed diamonds (especially with Chateau bonus) when you factor in how many worlds there are, with the quest available on each. I imagine that's why the diamond rewards have been diminished and then eventually removed as guaranteed prizes - basically, players somewhat taking advantage of the system in place for diamonds (being shared across worlds) to get a huge lump sum that can then be spent on a single world. You could argue that you have to work to complete the event in each city, true enough, but you also have to do that for other events that only reward diamonds randomly along the way (if you're lucky enough to win them) so there wasn't really any equality in that sense. Small random rewards vs guaranteed big reward? Playing devil's advocate, I can see why they removed the diamonds. Until/unless they figure out a way to reward certain event prizes only once per account rather than per world, or limit diamonds the the world in which they're purchased (both of which would also be unpopular changes) I don't see them coming back.

Yeah, well I'll just put my bet on now if they continue making it more difficult for f2p to get diamonds, I'm thinking they'll eventually phase out WW, then my bets on this game dying due to their greed for short term big gains at the cost of the game as a whole.

I do agree with some of your complaints in prior posts, but this statement implies that:
  • you know Inno's current margins of revenue that pay for play players generate vs. non-payers
  • you are knowledgeable of their balance sheets that determine Inno's profitability
  • you are non-biased regarding what value constitutes fair vs. greed
I'm pretty sure you're not capable of any of these 3 criteria, so I'm gonna have to say "I found someone wrong on the internet."

This post is mostly for my own amusement at this point. Sorry to anyone else who actually read all my ramblings.

It's just a guess not a certainty, do I really have to admit I don't have access to Inno's books to make a guess? It wouldn't be the first time in the history of histories someones greed begins to overtake the quality of their product eventually resulting in the end of said product.

Thank you for playing Forge of Empires and... enjoy the Summer! :)

I like big events. I like competition, and agree that nice prizes should have to be worked for.

I DON'T like having set bonus parts be dictated by random luck. One off buildings? Ok, sure. But NOT those that link together. That new dynamic changed everything, and it seems that these buildings are going to be real luck-of-the-draw to see if you get them or not. Losing out because my "neighbor" logged on 5 minutes earlier than I did and got the building I needed to complete my set, it bunk.

Rewards need to be given out due to effort, skill, and persistence; you put in the effort you get the gold ring.
Critical rewards shouldn't be handed out to dumb luck. There's no real incentive to be good or bad, just push the button and hope isn't a good design strategy.

Last year if I saw a wheel with 4x an item I wanted I was prepared to spend money on diamonds in the hope of getting at least 2 or 3 of that particular item. Now with just one shot at it the odds are drastically reduced and therefore the inclination to buy diamonds is also reduced accordingly. Changing the wheel like this is a major error imho, as the saying goes... 'if it 'aint broke don't fix it'

Exactly, no incentive to pay if it's all a gamble. True the wheel was random luck last year, but if there was a prize I wanted, and especially if multiple copies of it were still available, I could unload all of my tickets and buy more knowing that if I acted fast enough I would eventually get my desired prize. I very likely would secure multiple copies of it and usually did. This year feels like a bust before it even gets started. It's like being handed the keys to a sweet sports car to take for a spin on the Autobahn; then being told that they installed a governor to limit it to 35 mph...thanks...I guess...

52 Tickets from Quests, 20 or so daily tickets. Based on that, I'll be happy to get 3 SoK this year. I won't try for the sets.

Sure hope that 1 ups and stores are Silver. Gonna need serious quantities of those if we keep getting set prizes.

Almost 100 Supply Productions across the Quests. 224(?) FPs to be spent.

Nothing seems too horrible.

Have fun!

In beta, we only got a few daily tickets at the end when they decided to add that. With 57 tickets, I waited until the end, refreshed the wheel until I got one with an SoK and ran the wheel to get it, refreshed and repeated until I was out of tickets. I got 3 SoK's. And, inadvertently, all the buildings to complete both sets, which I will probably never place. I got a reno kit, fps, medals, portraits, some of those boost things, some buildings, unattched "special units,"etc. Very few coin or supply packs; they seem to have been replaced by the boost potions. More fps than last year (direct to bar, not packs).

question will we have hood shuffles or be stuck with the same hood for the event? i ask due to that hood prize goal system in play.

Thank you, this is excellent intel on what we can expect in the event.

Expansions are always asked for, in any form, probably one of the most common frequent asked for things in the game. They get that same question every event, they give the same type answer every time.
Space is a premium resource in Elvenar AND FoE but it would be nice if you could win Event ONLY special Expansions or if event buildings could be built on land that a normal expansion can't go OR a super expansion that takes up the normal 4X4 map space but when you zoom in or click on it and it becomes 16X16 for event buildings :)
I got 2 production spins in a row.. crappy prizes should be taken out of a players wheel after claimed once. Getting all of the event buildings appears quite difficult for non-diamonds, have tickets as GE prizes or else many won't make it!

More than any other event throughout the year, it wouldn't make sense if the prizes rewarded were anything BUT random. It's themed around a casino. Luck of the draw is the rule of law here.

It would not be 'nice'. This creates a huge discrepancy between players who are actually here for the event and those who are not. Of course, the same situation exists for some event buildings that may or may not ever be available again, but you can't compare any of those to even a single expansion in terms of value. The fact that they're continually requested proves that they're extremely valuable, but Inno has proven that so far there is no intention of ever making time-limited expansions available. As a player, I personally would not be able to plan a city around such things either. With how expansions are currently made available, it's easy to know exactly when and how I'm able to earn expansions and I can plan for them. If they were offered via events, that would throw a huge wrench into planning because those often are not made known until weeks or even days in advance. This is all still secondary to my first point though, that it's not fair to players who may not be able to obtain these hypothetical expansions in the first place.

ANYWAY! I'll offer my own feedback here: it sucks that there are no normal military buildings available this year. :( Although, if I look at the whole picture, there is GE now for an 'endless' supply of cheap units, it's not quite the same as being able to obtain an actual building. The jury's out for me on whether the new wheel layout is ultimately better or worse than previous years, but the new sets certainly look interesting and the artists definitely put a lot of time into designing them so props for that!

This is my first season event. I am disappointed. But then again, the Hedge Maze was no prize either, so I am no longer shocked. The tickets are too few, the odds are too small and I'm not dumb enough to spend money on a wheel of fortune where the gold prize is 20 fp.

DeletedUser27849

What does that neighborhood goal mean? How can we use that information?

From what I can tell is that once the wheel has been spun 77 times, then each member of the neighborhood will get a medal package.
