Global Chat is out of control

Has anyone noticed how negative and toxic the in-game global chat is? The feature is completely unusable for recruiting, asking questions, making contacts, etc. because it is totally flooded with nasty, bickering, childish ugliness. It's like the entire feed is populated with obnoxious 14 year old boys. I feel like the feeds need to be moderated more effectively, because honestly: it's a huge turn off to even look at the feed and a complete waste of time to even TRY to post something globally: by the time anyone reasonable would come on to read or answer you, their answer is buried in screen after screen of squabbling chickens pecking each other to death! Seriously, something needs to be done!

Lol, well no arguments here. Global chat has been thus since I began playing. Inno apparently puts no resources into governing it. I rarely dip into it , because.

Global Chat has pretty much always been like that. It may have momentary lulls.. but the usual is a cross between insane ranting and vicious bickering.
The insults can be legendary...
All sane players just read only... But there are always new players who have no idea of the toxic sewer they are entering..

Fair enough , but the Global has a definite young male aggressive vibe to me. It's very unpleasant. I am a long time player - and I hate to see this facet of one of the best games out there. Global chat could really be a valuable asset. But right now it's like the bad neighborhood you avoid.

Yes, great point, I do when it's appropriate. It's just such a shame to have what could be a great asset wasted.

IMO, there is nothing of value to be found on Global Chat, regardless of the world they are all the same...toxic. Answers to most questions may be found on this moderated Forum or, more most likely, within our own Guilds.

The lowest denominator..The bad who do not care much about anyone, fill it up. When some nice player tries to use it, the nasty players will drive them out.
Anyone with common sense will leave chat alone. thus all tha are left are the bad apples and new players who have it yet been burned.

The only redeeming feature in Global Chat is when two old time knuckleheads from enemy guilds get to cussing each other out because one of the guilds is being hammered in GBG, GvG (or both) Then just get some popcorn sit back and enjoy the pair of them go at it LOL.

Have you played any other games? This is fairly tame in comparison. If someone offends you, just block them or if the whole chat bothers you then just don't read it. Self moderation is usually a lot faster and easier than having someone else deal with it. As for wanting advice and asking questions, you are better off joining a fairly active guild and asking there.

I also have found a lot of toxicity on several worlds occasionally, with arguments. If someone is rude, block them and report them. It can get pretty heated, but like always, there is one easy solution. Just don't go on global!

Well, I have a friend who was forced to change her name because itburnswhenipee was too vulgar, so it must be who reports the player.
