Well why is because it'd be overpowered if they did. The key to 30k+ progress for free this event was buying the research lab tools every day. I can't imagine what the scores we'd hit would've been if we could get extra tools with refreshes.

The only problem is this is not clearly marked. You just have to know/find out. Granted this doesn't cost a ton - but if you're waiting til near the end to find out it could have a bigger impact.

This isn't the first time that shops with a refresh have select items that don't refresh with the rest. They need to find a way to clearly show which are which.

Yeah, I found out the "hard way" on the first day that the tools do not restock. I would say "...not clearly marked" is a huge understatement. When you hover over the "FREE" button, it states "Restocks all offers by resetting purchase limits and reshuffling discounts!" There is no ambiguity in "all", yet all offers are not reset nor restocked. It was definitely poorly written. I would add that it is also highly misleading.

I'm not really sure how its OP to get the tools every day versus being able to buy a limited number for the whole event. It was really annoying on my end, and halfway through the event I realized or got good enough to not need the tools at all. You merge the level 2's as fast as you can, you get the highest probability of spawning a white level 1 key. I didn't end up making it to 30k, but I made it good enough to get everything I wanted.

I'm not really sure how its OP to get the tools every day versus being able to buy a limited number for the whole event. It was really annoying on my end, and halfway through the event I realized or got good enough to not need the tools at all. You merge the level 2's as fast as you can, you get the highest probability of spawning a white level 1 key. I didn't end up making it to 30k, but I made it good enough to get everything I wanted.

the prismatic essence is worth ~150-200 points on its own on a good board (frozen colorless pieces are worth 8 times as much as frozen colored pieces), which 22 of them from the lab shop over the event from buying one a day is ~4000 points. (plus another 10 from the network shop but network coins are rare enough that I'm not sure I'd really recommend them in hindsight unless you're desperate for progress). Also often makes the board relatively easy to full clear cheaply (more mix and match opportunities for keys to keep on chaining on).

the split is also probably always-worth-it as it can get you extra boards by clearing the last few remaining frozen tiles quickly saving a bunch of spawns or a paid reset. Do you need it? No, of course not. Does it increase the value you get from your energy? Yes, definitely.

the gem mine tokens i could take or leave. they're basically turning 10 lab coins into 50 energy in my mind - which i mean lab coins aren't precious but it's a progress vs shopping for other stuff decision. In theory they're slightly better than 50 energy because they occasionally spawn a wild but that's rare.
