Anyone else's game sluggish?

why is the game so sluggish? I have a new computer (6 mos old) and this game is sluggish There will be days it works just fine, then like today it is extremely sluggish. Makes playing the game also unbearable. .

Ive heard this complaint many times in guild chat. I play on mobile. If i collect a building and immediately open a gb to drop it on, it still show 0 to drop. I need to wait a few seconds. My game"loads" lots of time, not just gbg. It "loads" when coming on, doing QI, etc... Its not just a gbg issue. It's not terrible most the time, just a bit annoying.

Absolutely. I'm not sure if it's a FOE issue or a WIN11 issue, but it is ONLY the foe tabs that crash after being open for a while, especially after a lot of action in gbg. My browser is only pulling 20% CPU yet it crashes multiple times daily now.

I'm on mobile and the loading issue is really bad now. I had the loading when adding fps to a gb and decided to just leave for now. Don't know if it added the fps or not. Maybe it's just my phone.

a lot of the features are not working properly, since the appearance of the new Viking game... I think you all screwed the pooch on this one, team. Not half working well, and only since yesterday.

It's an FoE issue related to memory, has nothing to do with compute. I'm not sure on the exact cause, but it seems that FoE has a memory leak related to the files sent to the game. The longer you leave it open, the more memory you build up until it slows down or may eventually crash. UI interactions like GBG accelerate this due to the number of files you receive.

Personally, I try to refresh any FoE tab open longer than ~4 hours. It helps with timing, the game runs better, and you get fewer issues.

It is getting worse. What I find helps most is regularly clearing junk files (Temp files etc) My system is set to do that and defrag regularly, but even so I also do it manually now and again. Also I used to have both my cities open on different tabs so I could easily hop from one to the other. I no longer do that either now. The game is running to much junk on an old, out dated and tired base. I very much doubt that MTG will allow INNO to spend the cash it would require to fix the game at this stage in its history. So we have to work around what it is if we wish to keep playing.

A single physical server can cost quarter mill...most places are just doing digital aws. Not sure if that would help???

I haven't had this problem personally. I play on the Opera GX browser. I also disable all sounds and animations so I'm not constantly asset loading when I play so maybe that might be a reason, but I'm not too sure. Having an solid state drive (SSD) is probably one of the best upgrades you can make to your computer since it will cut down the load time for assets. Other than that, just making sure you got enough memory as well. For context my computer is around 13 years old and still going. All I did was add an internal 1TB SSD to it. I am not sure what specs you are working with either. I, myself, have 16GB of RAM. Not too much, but more than enough to run Forge of Empires on.

Updating your computer is a good start. Windows updates, any kind of hardware updates or whatever you are using for your operating system. You can manually do this or get software that does this for you and checks regularly. Clearing your cache, temp files and things like that help. I got things that do this automatically and you can find them online and do some research yourself to find what suits you best.

I hope this helps you and if you already done this, I'd get in contact with the support team and find a solution with them. They have a lot more available knowledge on the inner functions of the game than I do. I am sure they would be more than happy to assist you.

Good news!

FOE-94929, FOE-94930: Performance optimizations and stability improvements are coming in patch 1.335 on May 20th for the US servers. This will come to the International server on May 18th.

Hopefully it will bring you some more stability and for others that are dealing with the issues.

Could be their pipe is too small. Not enough bandwidth on their end. I experience it too, mainly, trying to rush GBG battles and also when I open my Inventory. Most of the item's spin for several seconds before being displayed.
