Beginner’s Guide to successful quest completion

DeletedUser

First and probably foremost, make sure you ACCEPT the quest. You can complete the requirements for the quest 100 times, BUT, if you have not accepted the quest it will not complete. SUGGESTION: Close every quest box by using the “accept” tab. You can always skip/abort the quest at a later date.

Second. Read the quest thoroughly and carefully. Often players confuse have and build; have and gain; goods and supplies; conquer or obtain; (this or current) and THAT. When it comes to map references, East or South, etc. are especially prone to directional (that) references.

Third. Track your progress. If you are unsure what you are doing, check to see if the first iteration (item/production/building) registers BEFORE you do the number called for by the quest. This can become expensive, especially if you are not creating the correct item.

Quests were meant to be brain teasers. A great example of this are quests that tell you to add/delete "2 of any" as opposed to "any 2". With quests of "2 of any", you must add/delete 2 of the same type. This is not the same as "any 2", where the quantity of the item is the key.

If you follow these rules, it may be surprising how simple the quest lines can become and how quickly they can be accomplished. It is sometimes easy to tell that a person we helped with a quest (explained) were embarrassed even without seeing their face.:)
