Also a heads up from someone who played this on Beta.

I did not see any direct buys for bridge upgrades or getting more bridges. You can only get them from the loot boxes. 700ish for the 15% chance at an upgrade and 780 florins for the 20%.

I saw the OF SoK direct buy to be 6500 florins and you can buy 10k florins for 4k diamonds.

According to the Wiki Page our start date is listed as Feb 22nd but the Daily quest begin on Feb 2. Am I to assume that I should add 20 days to the dates listed on the Page? (Feb 2nd's quest will be on Feb 22nd etc through March 19th) ?

"You will also have to make difficult choices, as you discover some games and amusement in the the gaming alley of Venice."

Yeah, like the shell game, which seems appropriate here.

Ugh. I did not like last year's Carnival at all, and this looks like it has the similar mechanics behind it. Not wowed by the prizes either, since two are similar to last year's Renaissance Villa and Masquerade Ball. The bridge is the best of the lot, and it's just a bigger version of the Pillar of Heroes from Forge Bowl. I'll have to see how this one turns out.

They gave up on that countdown real quickly. I also had expected to read something about the new OF being released at the same time as this but I guess they're holding it back for now. I'd prefer the event first anyhow.

HAHAHA!!!

Carnival was last week!!! Fat Tuesday / Mardi Gras was February 13, 2018 (following the Catholic Roman calendar)

Right now it is LENT, pretty much the opposite of Carnival !!! Christians, mot of them anyway, will probably find this offensive since Carnival is an anti-religious celebration to begin with.

HAHAHA!!!

First Carnival event for me, but I love the aesthetics (which is more than I can say for Forge Bowl, much as I like the Pillar of Heroes). However, like the Forge Bowl, it’s a bit hard to understand from the official description.

Do any of you probability whizzes from beta have a strat that optimizes the chances of ending up with a fully upgraded bridge?

I don't remember last year's Carnival Event. I was in the process of buying my house, so I was busy packing and stuff.
I do have two Masquerade Balls, so I did participate, lol.

Not sure if I will participate in my main. Map stuff looks to come up pretty quickly. My map is already a mess. Not sure if the bridge is worth making it messier...

Save all of your florins. try to snipe people going for the middle risk reward. Use your florins on the 20% bridge upgrade chest. I saved all mine to the last minute and still couldn't get a lvl 7 bridge.

Not going to bother trying to ugprade the bridge all the way here either.

Looks like it's exactly like last year's event, just swap roses for tickets and hearts for florins. Only difference is that that the 15% awards less and the 5% awards more this year. The costs for direct prizes are ugly high again like it was last year, I think an analysis of the chests that have upgrades in them to see which once is the most florin effective by probability will be useful.

Not wowed by the questlines either, the main requires taking one province on the map, with required sector infiltration and negotiation. The daily also has unavoidable map requirements. I strongly suggest to anyone who is actively doing DCs to finish up your current Challenger's Chest and then let the DCs rest until finishing all the map requirements or until you deceide to stop progressing on the event since the DCs will give you map requirements if you have an open province. If you don't this event could very well eat up your map.

At least research is optional and only appears once at the very end of the daily quests. More ugly: guild treasury donations vary by age. This helps the new players, but it's ugly because I have no idea how much to stockpile. Gathering resources also varies by age which might not be too bad in the long run, and again helps the noobs who can't gather large amounts of stuff while providing a reasonable challenge to established players. Interesting: Vitruvian Man appears here again as a potential prize after a long absence, as well as the Tree of Love (but not the bigger trees). Unfortunately, they're just decos.

I don't know, I'm seriously considering skipping this one. The map will require me to open the next age's map, which will mess up my side/recurring quests. I did not enjoy last year's Carnival, and I'm not enthusiastic about the prizes. The bridge is okay, but it's basically a bigger Pillar of Heroes. The PoH got attention because the highest level one gives 3 FP for a 3x3 building, that comes out to 1 FP/3 squares, which is more effective than the SoK and offers several items at once. The bridge though is 4x3 so with 3 FP at level 7, it's 1 FP/4 squares the same as the SoK. Yes, it too has the extra stuff like the PoH, but it's pretty much inferior to it. The other prizes? Two Ziggurat variants, two Bazaar variants, and 3 decos, two of which usually appear in the summer casino. Then there's the various common special buildings which appear in most events anyway, and can show up now in the DCs.
