Chat function in GBG (app)

I just noticed there's a "chat" button available when you open the GBG map on mobile. Tapping it does nothing, I'm wondering if this is an upcoming feature or perhaps a bug?

Came here thinking the same thing! Just noticed the button tonight and it does nothing for me either.

In one world my guild is in platinum league, GBG there has a chat button that does nothing. My other world is gold league with no button. Assuming it's an upcoming feature.
