Yesterday I logged into my city with about 2000 diamonds but I just logged in this morning with -1000 I didn’t purchase anything or do anything in the mean time how do I fix this

Usually if you make a purchase for diamonds, spend them but ask for a refund, they will deduct your diamonds even to a negative value.
If you think this is an error, contact INNO by right clicking anywhere inside the game (on PC) and click "Contact Support" or go to your settings on mobile and open a contact form. If it is legit, they will explain why. If not, they should be able to fix it.

If you have more than one city then your diamonds are put into a pool for all of your cities. Spending diamonds in one will show the deduction in all of your other cities. Otherwise, Dominator is correct - you'd need to contact support if refreshing such doesn't rectify the problem.
