We are happy to announce that we have now reached the point where the Daily Challenges can be finally released to all our players. After some time we spent on finetuning and verifying the impact of the feature on the game, we are now confident that it will be a useful addition for everybody.
Thank you for your patience! Daily Challenges will be available to all players as of December 14th.
It has been a while since we mentioned it in our announcements, so let us remind everybody what the feature is about and the way it works
.Functionality
You will find the Daily Challenges inside the Quest Overview window. Every day starting at 8 AM server time* (if you don't like 8 AM as the default start time of the challenge, you can change that using the little gear icon) you will be offered a choice between two chests. What is in the chests will change from day to day. Here's an example choice:
You can see what can be possibly found in both of them, and you can choose the one that is more appealing to you. Once you've made your choice, a new mysterious quest giver - The Nameless - will present you with a challenge which, unlike quests, may have up to five success conditions. The challenges usually offer a chance to get better rewards than the regular quests, but they may be a more demanding than what you're used to.
However, we have spent some time making sure that there will be no 'impossible' challenges (like scouting that would take two days), and we won't be asking you to research.
This is what the challenge looks like:
You then have until the next day, 8 AM (unless you have changed your time preference), to complete the Nameless' requests and get a reward from the chest. The chests can contain the standard resources, Forge Points, medals, blueprints, buildings and other items.
As you can see, there is also a progress bar below the tasks. If you manage to complete a challenge, you will get one progress point. If you do the same on the next day, you will get another point. If not, you will lose it. So, you can decide for yourself if you take a challenge or not. if you don't, you'll be passing up some rewards, but there will be another one the next day.
When you collect all seven progress points, The Nameless will recognize your efforts and grant you an additional chest containing one of the most desirable rewards!
