How do I get the 100 deep space chips needed in the discovery age to unlock the research called Expedition Command Initiative?

I have already researched the previous steps and have built the given buildings in the city, but I have not been able to generate any Blue Space Chips, and I am lost as to how to go about doing that. I would appreciate your help.

No, the explanation given for finishing the "Expedition Command Initiative" research quest, says the following:

The primary hurdle for this initiative is securing 100 Deep Space Chips, which are required to fully complete the initiative taks"

I have already acquired Void Shards but have "zero" Deep Space Chips"!
