Feedback for the Anniversary Event 2025

Judging from their recent financial performance, MTG has been making the right decisions regarding FoE. From the most recent MTG President's Report: "InnoGames had an encouraging quarter in Q4 and reported higher sales both year over year and from Q3 2024, driven by strong events in Forge of Empires."
I am glad they are making a profit. That is what they care about. Not the game as such. It is just a means to an end.
Exactly , MTG is a business , FoE is a game. They make money off the game then it stays live. Do the parts you like and skip the rest
Very true, except for saying the game stays alive. Forge of Empire the mini game platform is very much alive. Forge of Empires the game is not. So I do play it as I choose. I even spend diamonds in my main world. As long as they cost me nothing.

I will just play the regular minigame for the event and might by extra energy with diamonds I win from the game (won't spend $$ on it). If a rival task is easy I might do it, if not will ignore. Buildings from this event are irritating anyway since most offer 0 fp and the upgraded airships are lousy since no one who knows how to play QI well wants more defense for red or blue stats. More offense is probably 10x better than more defense in QI.

I might be facing an angry mob for this but I'm excited about the event.

The anniversary event is something you have to play everyday to stay ahead so it makes sense to spread out the rivals across each day instead of wasting currency trying to complete 30+ quests in 2 days.

The chamber and orbs look great.

If people skip this event because of the rivals and whatnot then all the better, makes gold league easier to get.

I don't plan to go for it unless it's attainable with my planned spending.
Judging from how many players in worlds I play in that are pizzed about this dumb rival mechanic appearing so often and who can't stand dumb candy crush saga type minigame you might get your wish for having easy time getting into gold league.

The game certainly doesn't make it easy. The best recruiters are probably on a good portion of their server's ignore list because a lot of it comes down to random mails trying to sell your guild to people at random. Bearing in mind that a good portion of the people you recruit are also not going to last so you have to keep doing it until you reach a level of success where people start to reach out to you instead.

Perhaps the optimum start might be to find the weakest QI server, in terms of the current leading guild(s), where you're most likely to be able to take over the top of the rankings. Because that's when you'll be able to use your focus to sell yourself. Top QI guild on a server that only requires you to show up to that one feature.
Anyone who runs a guild will find out too that many players who join the guild have unrealistic expectations and whine about pretty much every little thing that can be imagined. Some are such bandwagoners they will jump ship before long if your guild is not able to dominate every other guild there is.

First board: 90% blue. gems you get from paying energy: random, so ~33% blue. I'm pretty sure that at least 60% of my energy expenditure so far has been wasted because it was already cleared.

You don't have to full clear every board. When it's getting unlikely you'll get much points from the average spawn, you should probably reset it without clearing.

i.e. once you have a T4 blue on an all-blue board, you can use that 1 T4 to merge with all the other T4s, then collect it, and reset the board to try and get one where red and green spawns *aren't* wasted.

wow way to completely ruin the pass for the anniversary event, I was going to buy it if it was like it was on beta, but now every page after page 6 is crap.

Just about everything about this game has become rote. More in line with bait and switch or the shell game on the sidewalk. Games in games inside a garbage can with the stench getting worse each week. Each day I scratch my head wondering why I'm still playing, guess out of sentiment or loyalty to the guild.

Is there anywhere I can see the mechanics for the world challenge? Because I see the bar getting filled but I don't even know what people are doing to contribute. Is it like doing tasks? Or unlocking gems? Thanks.

Also, what level is your world on? Mine (us9) is about to hit five. Just wondering if thats good compared to others.

It's tasks. But as you have no real control over the world side of that, it being a product of thousands of players, all you really need to worry about is keeping up on your half of it so you can claim the prizes when the world unlocks them. (1 set of tasks per world tier).

Hey we really tried in beta to get Inno to fix a bunch of things inherently wrong with this event, before it hit live. They made a few adjustments, but it kinda feels so far by your comments here they didn't hit the mark much better.
As for Rival, it hit us first as a 6 quest daily and we all shouted no, too much - and as well, there were synchronization problems with resets times on both Rival and the event, making it hard to align them for maximum productivity unless you were in the same timezone. Then they went to Rival every 2 days with 8 quests, and now for live, it's back to 1 day with 4 quests.

The event just drags on and on and on... yeah, we get it. A lot of people really just tuned off for a nearly 4 week event. As well the rewards were rather anemic to many.

But hey! Have fun with it :)

I think many of the rivals can be safely skipped and you can still get bronze league. don't get any eternal market or ally frags from the rivals or even the airship upgrades (as far as I know) not that the airship is much to get excited about anyway -nothing special about silver league imo and even gold league is nothing to get excited about-the special gold building gives 90% only GE stats -25% extra for QI is nice but not worth gold just for that imo
