Feedback for the Guild Expeditions Update: New Trials to Come!

NOT TWO MORE ITEMS STORES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! o_O   :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::(:(:(:(o_Oo_Oo_Oo_O:eek::eek::eek:
Can you guess how I feel about more stores instead of direct prizes/rewards???????????????????????????????????????????????????????

IT'S CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I did not see the Forgotten Temple listed as a reward. You say we still get it. I ask "How?" and "How much?".
Still drops 50 fragments a week from any trial 5 or higher. Fountain of Youth also drops as fragments directly. Probably because their perceived value is so different from other rewards that if they priced them "right" then everything else would cost nothing :p

"....with this update, we’ve eliminated the randomness that applied to Diamonds in the past. A fixed number of 30 Diamonds will be available from the encounters starting at Difficulty 4. In addition, 30 Diamonds (in increments of 10) will be available in the Common GE Store. This way, you can receive a guaranteed reward of 60 Diamonds every active season you play, which amounts to the average number of Diamonds players used to get in the old system."

Only Inno bean counters could call this a "guaranteed reward of 60 Diamonds every active season you play".

Which old system?

And what is their definition of an "active season"? Used to be, under the original system, if you took one sector/tile in a season it counted as you being active and able to participate in the next season without "re-upping" for it due to "inactivity". Then with the current system you need more than that. How much more I don't know, because Inno for some stupid reason keeps certain actually relevant information like that to themselves, unless I missed it somewhere.

The other thing is that "the randomness of the past" is not really a thing. In the original version, if you played all 4/5 levels you were pretty much guaranteed Diamond rewards. In the current system you are definitely guaranteed Diamond rewards of at least 40 or so, with the possibility of 40+ more. Now we're to take the fact that they're nerfing the actual guarantee to 30 and say that's an improvement? What they're really doing is putting a cap of 60 Diamonds on each GE season instead of that being the average. Meaning that a (slight) majority of players are guaranteed to receive fewer Diamonds, a small percentage will get the same amount. Fewer than half will actually get more.

Then let's address the phrase "starting at Difficulty 4" for a second. That implies that you will now have to go to level 5 to get all the 30 "guaranteed" Diamonds, instead of only having to finish level 4. Maybe I'm misreading that, or maybe they aren't stretching it to level 5 and they're just bad with wording. Maybe. And maybe this is just another step in the continued nerfing of free Diamonds that been an ongoing thing for a few years now.

Add to all that the fact that we will now have 5 ongoing item stores to have to scroll up and down for in order to get our "rewards", with 6 more likely during events, and it's another case of Inno pooping on the player base and telling us it's an improvement.

Specifically it used to be 40 advances (which happened to be 1 copper sector if you put it all into one place ; but you could take no sectors and still count as active).

It might still be 40 advances, but now that would be 2 copper sectors and a bit more than 1 silver sector.

When they say difficulty 4, I think they might mean trial 4. That one is a clean out nerf to the lower end of the spectrum. You do not make enough coins to buy the 30 shop diamonds until trial 4. And I think you have to do all 5 difficulty levels for them at that trial yes. There are higher trials where sufficient coins for 30 diamonds would be earned in the early encounters - but the 30 direct dropped will always also require difficulty 4.

So all 5 levels of Trial 4 just to get the "average" that you get now from doing level 4 of Trial 1 currently? Well, that's even worse. They're giving us garbage and calling it caviar.

IT'S CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well JBG, we are doing the winter event in beta, somehow, they think we need 2 stores FOR THE EVENT and 2 different currencies for the stores,
Bells are for progress, and you can get Lantern coins or Starlight coins, each has a store for spending. The funny part, you don't make enough in 3-5 days, either coin, to buy anything, in either store. Sure, if you spend all your bells, ruin your event, you can get something. They really messed up the winter event.
So be prepared for even more CRAP.

In the previous iteration of trials, you were guaranteed 42-56 diamonds, depending on the trial you chose, with a chance to win up to 90 each season. The average result of this would be 58.2 (min 57.8, max 58.57) diamonds per week.

The current (new) system is that you have a guaranteed 30 diamonds from every Trial from level 4 of the expedition. You also have 3x10 diamonds available in the shop to purchase with common coins. As long as you collect enough coins, you are guaranteed those diamonds as well. The coin rewards are constant for each Trial, with you needing to complete at least Trial 4 to get enough coins to buy out all the diamonds. The end result is that you are guaranteed those 30 diamonds in the shop, for a set value of 60 diamonds/week from Trials 4+. It's not random. It's entirely set, constant values.

It also happens to be a slight buff in terms of the diamonds/week that can be expected for the average player, if they didn't work with other players to determine the Trials with diamonds. You do need to be able to complete Trial 4, but at a max of 840% enemy army boosts... that's not a very high bar with how strong buildings are these days.

In other words, an overwhelming majority of players will get very slightly more diamonds/season, while a very small minority will make fewer.

The 30 diamonds are only given at level 4, none are in level 5. Every player will be able to see this when they choose a Trial. It is bad wording, though.

Anyways, figured I'd jump in and clear that up.

Yes, you were guaranteed at least 42 Diamonds from every Trial including 1-3. Now you're only guaranteed 30 for those Trials, with the other 30 only available from doing Trial 4 or above.

I think you overestimate the "average player". The very active player? Yes, they will get a buff. The average player? Probably not. You've got to remember that most of the players are not in high level guilds, nor do they know enough to develop their cities properly. I believe that the perspective of players like you with lots of experience with high level play is skewed to players of that level and not the average player.

Now personally it won't affect me much, because in my two cities where I do much GE I won't have a problem getting all 60 Diamonds. And my other cities produce Diamonds almost exclusively through buildings like the WW, with some occasionally earned through quest/event/Incident rewards. However, it still bothers me because it is just another nerf (even if not for you) combined with more of the highly annoying stores. Stores, I might add, that have nothing that interests me other than those Diamonds.

No - with the coins you get, you can get 40 from trial 1, ~47ish from trial 2, and 55 from trial 3, assuming you just hold your coins until you can spend them for diamonds.

But yes, I'm not a fan of the stores either.
