They only give level ones now in the heroes challenge. Those are only 50 Valors and take 4 weeks to complete if you finish the challenge every week. The higher ones are in the events and much harder to get.
Events are now moving towards mostly commons too it seems. Though getting easier to complete.
In the King Arthur event on beta:
- There's 3 full ones for relatively cheap in the event shop (2 common, 1 uncommon).
- There's full ones in the elf presents (common) (well merlin's grimoires but it's like the elf thing from christmas).
So from this it seems likely that you'll usually be starting from common from now on, but we might be done with fragments of them outside of the taverne (fingers crossed!)
And you'll probably need to be more selective over which ones you want to level to 100 and increase the rarity of ; and which ones you're just picking up to be destroyed as valor tokens.
With that in mind,
1 Lv 100 Common takes 1 Common
1 Lv 100 Uncommon takes 5 Commons (+4)
1 Lv 100 Rare takes 11 Commons (+6)
1 Lv 100 Epic takes 19 Commons (+8)
1 Lv 100 Legendary takes 31 Commons (+12)
So it seems the choice, eventually, becomes between having, say, 100 commons, 20 uncommons, 9 rares, 5 epics, or 3 legendaries.
With the 100 commons limited primarily by scrolls and rooms (levelling 30 extra common dorks to 100 costs many more scrolls than turning 1 lv 100 dork legendary).
While on the legendary end you're limited by needing to acquire a whole lot of trash dorks just to fill 1 room.
---
The trap to avoid for now is levelling a whole bunch of common dorks a little bit of the way. Because if you decide to shred them later you lose all the scrolls you invested into levelling them.
So either you want to take a dork to 100 and maybe some day increase its rarity. Or you should leave it at level 1 and it can fill a room with not much effect until you need it for its valor tokens (4-12 lv 1 commons being worth less, even if you have the rooms, than adding another stat on a lv 100; the 12 for legendary is getting close though

).
It seems likely to me that you'll wind up with a bunch of uncommons (or commons that you intend to take to uncommon) primarily ; with maybe the very best ones going to rare or epic. Legendary being an exceptional expense that you must really value the ability it provides.
