GE

Prestige means rank, not power.
What are saying now? You said GE has nothing to do with Rank when in fact it does. Now you say Prestige is not power? While that is in one sense true because you don't gain "prestige" from GE, GvG, Special Buildings, Prestige is an accounting of Power, which comes daily power combined and from the "prestige bonus" of level of the guild, the higher the level the more "prestige bonus".

A guild with only mobile players will never make it to the top of the ranking.

No kidding...

So if your goal is to be at the top, GvG is the only avenue.

'Never' implies impossible. It's highly unlikely, but not impossible. Don't use absolutes unless you implement the rules. Shows a fundamental inability to grasp reality.

A fundamental inability to grasp reality is thinking they can. Sure it is possible, after all they can remove GvG from the game, but that will never happen.

False. Our guild on Yorkton is currently #29 out of almost 1800 guilds solely on GE and HoFs.

And how many of those Guilds consist of 1 member?

You will never make it to the #1 spot.

Hall of Fames in a high age player's city are definitely the highest potential for levelling a guild. Of course the benefits of a levelled guild are pretty much nonexistent to a highly developed player so on some level it's a waste of space - most high age players have 'a few' for the good of the guild and if you have a lot of those high age players it's likely the biggest contributor to gaining levels.

GvG power gain is based on how much land you can hold onto and is the only source for prestige (ranking) other than the small sum that comes from your level. Small guilds with active fighters can still hold significant tracts of land at any given point of time and as such this could be their biggest source of guild power.

GE power gain is based on relatively speaking how many GE-active high age players that guild has. Guilds of inactive players, guilds of lower age players and guilds that aren't very big in member count will not gain power very fast from GE. It is however the only source of guild power gain that comes paired with an individual benefit - so in that way it's 'the best'. Individuals aren't wasting their resources for the good of the guild, they're spending them for their own benefit, and the guild benefits too.
Do you know the "formula" for calculating the power per point in GE?

When is GE guild power collected; daily or weekly? I thought is was weekly until I read this in the Wiki page on GE: "The goal bar counts the Expedition Points your guild has collected, and whenever you reach a new goal your guild will win guild power. The power for your guild will be paid out each day, when the daily recalculation takes place. You can click on the bar to view more details." That says it's daily. If true, does that mean the GE guild power at the time of recalc plus any ranking bonus is credited to the guild each day?

The answer makes a huge difference in how much guild power GE provides

The power your guild gains every day is credited at recalc time that day. The power gained from finishing in the top 3 is credited at recalc time on the day when GE ends.

@Roxana 1184 the Wise nailed it. So Tuesday through Sunday evenings at 8:00 PM Eastern US time each guild gets credited with the Guild Power Points earned in the last 24 hours. Then on Monday evening at 8:00 PM Eastern US time each guild is credited with the GPP earned during the last few hours of GE along with any bonus for finishing in the top 3 that week. (And, of course, each day's credited GPP will include any earned in GvG or through Halls of Fame or certain multi-production buildings.)

Thanks so much! As a follow up: In GE (on a computer) if you click the bar at the top the GE Contribution window pops up. You can see the Guild Power earned by clicking on the Overview tab. That number is the total GP earned for the week, not the amount that is credited at recalc, right? At recacl what we get is the amount added to that total today.

My Social Science degree is not helping me with this. lol

If anything, level 4 GE should be opened just for the Diamonds and TF's. All the other stuff the Guild gains is icing on the cake.

That is correct.
