Great Building Contest!

Dear Kings and Queens,

Yesterday we launched the Industrial Age and, while you’re busy working your way through that, the Forge of Empires team is already hard at work preparing for the next era ... and it’s one we want you to get involved in, too!

The next age is already well underway, but a key element is still missing… and that’s where you come in. We’re giving you the chance to make your mark in Forge of Empires by helping us choose a Great Building for the Progressive Era!

We want you to suggest a Great Building for the new Progressive Era. The best suggestions will win prizes of Diamonds and blueprints. And that’s not all. Entries are also submitted into a worldwide contest, where our game design team will choose two structures to be included in the Progressive Era as Great Buildings. The first ones who suggest the winning buildings will win the prestige of seeing their names added to Forge of Empires, in the buildings’ description.

How to take part

It’s really easy to take part in our contest. First, you’ll need a forum account (click here to register). Once you've registered, you can post on our forum and enter the contest.

To enter the contest, we want you to think of a building or structure from the Progressive Era that would make a fantastic Great Building for the game.

Once you’re sure of your entry, please post the name of your suggested building in the contest thread linked below, after checking no-one else has already suggested that building. You can submit suggestions for the GB effects, description text or size, but it will not increase your chances of winning. Providing a name only has the same chances of being chosen.

The contest is open now, and will close at the end of Monday, March 25[SUP]th[/SUP].
Good luck everyone, and we hope you enjoy participating!

Sincerely,
The Forge of Empires team

You decide!

Greetings Kings and Queens,

We received thousands of suggestions for a Great Building, and we're delighted you're so interested in helping us to shape the future of Forge of Empires. In fact, we're so overwhelmed by the response we're adding some additional prizes and turning the final decision on which buildings go into the game over to you.

The Forge of Empires team inhouse have drawn up a shortlist of their 6 favourite entries, and they need your help deciding the overall winner.

We're holding the vote on Facebook, because it's so easy to join in there. Simply go to our album of entries here and "like" the entry you like! Whichever 2 suggestions have the most likes on Wednesday, April 10th, will win and become the Great Buildings for the Progressive Era.

As previously announced, the grand prize will go to the first person who suggested the winning buildings, but in addition to that, we'd like to give the shortlisted entries a little something, too. So, the players who suggested the shortlisted entries first will receive 1500 Diamonds, plus 3 blueprints of their choice*.

The shortlist
Royal Holloway College, London
Chateau Frontenac, Quebec
Amazon Theatre, Manaus
Alcatraz Prison Island, San Francisco
Palmenhaus, Schönbrunn
Altare della Patria, Rome

We would like to thank everyone who participated in the contest, and we hope you join the vote!

Sincerely,
The Forge of Empire team

* The overall winners will not receive additional prizes for being in the shortlist. Prizewinners will be contacted after the overall winner and runners-up are announced.
