I don't know how you figure the the Guilds to compete in each GBG season. I've read on the forums that you figure smaller less powerful Guilds should be able to remain competitive because of Attrition.

In this current season it is literally impossible for us to compete. These guilds are so, so much more powerful and have so many more players, they control the board to the point where all we and the other Guilds can do is hope to get in a dew hits to collect some rewards. Attrition does not come into play because they have so many level 80 Arcs they can build Siege camps all day long without even putting a dent in their treasury.

This really takes away from the enjoyment of the game and is a detractor in people remaining in the game, why bother really if you can't play the game and be competitive... with reasonably matched Guilds. It would be different if GBG never happened so often.

No matter how you figure it, the Algorithm used, or your reasoning, the fact remains in the aforementioned, Inno will lose players because of this if it is not fixed.

you too weak to compete in the league you in, then you gonna do down to the lower league next time, seems quite reasonable to me

Arcs don't fill all the needs of GbG by a long shot. the ones that drop SCs every time have members contribute 1000s of goods outside of the Arc / Obs to keep it up and spend a few 1000 in diamonds to finish them fast enough as well.

That's not the point! GBG is supposed to be competitive for all, Guilds are supposed to be matched accordingly.

When a Guild has 50 or more 80+ Arcs, Obs etc... Yeah, certainly goes a long way.

You're missing the point completely.
No matter what league you're in every Guild in GBG should be able to compete.
The way it is now is 2-3 guilds control the board, swap sectors and keep everyone else to the outside, not really making it a "Battleground" but more of a farming ground for rewards.

This is a detriment to the game and if Inno doesn't address the issue, they will lose players. It's just that simple!

Only thing simple is that they will not lose players. That is an argument that is used often and never holds any ground.

Sparky, zoom out from GBG and look at the entire game from a macro view.
GBG is one aspect of competition in FOE. PvP, GvG, GE, City Defense, Plundering........
GBG and GVG are very competitive arenas and you can be successful IF you and your Guild are doing all the things that make you competitive.
If you find yourselves non-competitive in GBG, maybe ya'll need to evaluate what you need to reach the level you.
High School teams should not expect to beat Professional Teams.

If the game is out of balance and becomes boring as it does in GBG the way they have it now. Yes, players will cease to play.
Especially newbies, maybe not the seasoned long time members... but.
GBG is boring even for those Guilds. Where's the "Battle"? Where's the strategy.

GBG is a joke whether you like it or not.
It's become a farm with no battle.

Take the average mid range fighter. They have spent months or years forging alliances , building up attack strength , honing the guild they are in , fine tuning their city (ies) and amassing the right Gbs and levels to compete at the top level. They compete in GvG to build up the guild , tweak their freindlist all the time and read up on the best strategies to stay in Diamond. What would be the purpose of all this if a new player can just jump in and get the same benefits on month 1 or 2 ?

This is not just a little mismatch, it's an extremely unbalanced and mismatched board. These Guilds need to be fighting amongst themselves to make it actually fun.
So we have 27 Members with top players around 6M in points.
The other Guilds have 70+ payers with the majority over 50M in points.

Last round we were in Diamond and there was a little bit of a mismatch, but only 1 guild, we finished 3rd.
This round is so lopsided it's not even funny. Inno themselves say they want to try and match, at least reasonably matched guilds. This is far from happening and should not happen. Shit, on day one the board was completely over run by two guilds in less than 20 minutes. They were taking sectors in 30 seconds or less, building 4 siege camps on each sector and spending diamonds to build them faster.

You can argue all you want. I am firm on my stance and Inno really needs to maje sure this doesn't happen, otherwise what's the point of even playing GBG.
