Does the prestige your guild gets from GVG translate into guild power or is it just for guild rankings? thanks in advance for a response

Yes. Guild Power is generated by the sectors and map bonuses you hold at recalc, GE encounters and weekly bonuses, GBG chest rewards, HoF & SoH collections, and special production buildings like the Opus set to certain time intervals. All those things generate crowns or power that help your guild level up.

GvG also generates prestige which couples with your guild level bonus and GBG LP to come up with guild rankings.

The guild level comes from collecting crowns to increase "guild power". The level is used to feed into the guild prestige calculation.

Guild Prestige is the output of "the sum of the power of all sectors owned by the guild + the prestige bonus the guild receives from the guild level" and based on the prestige the guilds are ranked within the world.
