Guild vs Guild question

When working on the map in GvG, do you need to continue with contiguous sectors or can you skip across the world map and start on a different area that is not connected to the rest of the conquered sectors?

Once you have landed, you can only siege new sectors that are adjacent to sectors you already own. So pretty much you are stuck with contiguous sectors.

But: before landing, you can siege anywhere, and those sieges don't go away after you land. So you can set two sieges, and if you win them both you will have landed in two places. You can expand from either of them.

Also, you can release sectors, so you can split up your contiguous area into multiple parts.

Hope that helps.

You also need to factor in the effect of the defensive bonuses, if you plan to hold some of your sectors for a while, as defensive bonuses are only applied to sectors that are somehow connected to your Headquarters, six at a time.

Even a few sectors with a +50 defensive bonus will scare off the cheap ticket pirates, and may altogether block a player who doesn't have a similar attack bonus.
