Halloween Event 2019 Feedback

This one event I will say I absolutely hated....There was too much going on...too many quests...some of us have a real life. It is piling one up on another...We have main world, settlement, daily quests, event quests, secondary - eighth event (library books) quests....enough already...I try to use this to release stress not add to it.

As always, this game comes down to choices. I could tell early on that with all this event had with it I would not be able to do it on all my worlds and still be married at the end. So I chose one world to chase the level 9 Asylum and just collected free candies on all the others (7 worlds currently). And as I stated earlier, I achieved the goal I aimed for without spending Diamonds and without stressing myself out. And I was still able to get some decent free stuff on the worlds where I basically ignored the event. Choices. Make 'em. Live with 'em.

During Events I completely ignore Settlements, DCs, and the Campaign Map unless I need it for a quest. Makes life much easier.

Yep unless the DC gives event currency like in the Fall baking event .

I have completed the full event, including using the candies only to get the most cost effective 395 piece package of brooms, etc and left no web in the dark. I got all asylum upgrades and all the way through the awards to almost get a second one.

During the event I got some books as many as 4 or 5 times, including the 7th book twice, yet never found the 8th book.

My feedback is simply this. If your going to have a reward like this one , then all 8 books should come up in the event! Otherwise it's a waste of time and effort to have tried, as I did with the event.

sorry but sometimes the RNG God wins. I never got my 8th book either but got a level 9 AA so I'd say it was an awesome event! Did not buy any diamonds either.

I am VERY angry about the illegal bait and switch I've encountered on both Z and then on T.

I took a screen shot this time. After you get the SOK, the next prize is the UPGRADE. I hovered over it, and it said UPGRADE, and I have a picture to prove it.

UPGRADE, NOT LEVEL 1.

However, when I got through winning the bloody SOK, the next available prize was a LEVEL ONE and not the promised UPGRADE. In addition, this whole time it's been alternating between UPGRADE and whatever item they offer just to keep us playing more to get to the next level so we can get what we really want - the UPGRADE.

For FOE to switch at the 11th hour - especially when it DELIBERATELY lied to us about what the next prize was - is ILLEGAL. It's called Bait and Switch, and every state has statutes forbidding this.

I am very disappointed with FOE. I expect you to treat your fans and players with integrity, but you sure showed what you're made of here.

Look at those pictures again, the next prize is a level 1, not an upgrade. It goes from left to right, NOT right to left.
Also, the company is based in Germany.

No, when I was doing the level for the SOK, the word NEXT clearly shows - like it has the whole time for the NEXT prize. And I hovered over the description - it's as plain as day. Then when I finished and won the SOK, the new prize is not the upgrade but a Level 1.

If you got that far you should've been at lvl 8 or 9 depending on if you had done all 52 Quests so of course the next prize is a level 1 not a upgrade that you'd have no use for

Well thanks for the email that said if I logged in via the link I would get 30 free candies. I waited until now to do it as I didnt know which of my four worlds I would need it on. I am one green gem away from getting the sok and because your stupid link didnt give me any candies when I logged in, I will now not get the sok I would have got if your email link actually worked!!!! Maybe if the mods would actually respond to my ticket, they could have done something about it, but it's been almost an hour and still no response!

This is complete garbage. I have to go to bed now and I am getting screwed over by your game once again because things you promise us dont actually work! You now owe me an sok for screwing me out of the one I would have got if your email link that I tried five different times actually worked! There is still 2 hours left in the event and nowhere in the email does it say it expires at any time so it should be valid until the event ends. I expect to have an answer from one of your mods apologizing for your game screwing up, yet again, and putting the sok I was robbed of into my inventory!

As for this style of event, it has to be the worst crap you have ever done, complete drain on everything. I will never waste another second on an event like this regardless of what you offer. I logged in every day, collected candy from incidents, did every book I got, did all the quests and I still only got all the books on one out of four worlds. But anyone with a brain knows you rig this game to screw people out of their hard work and time so you can force people to use diamonds. Worst part is, that doesnt even matter anyways. Guy in my guild said he spent 2000 diamonds trying to get the final book and he STILL didnt get it. He said he will never waste diamonds on an event again and who would blame him. So congrats, you are getting the opposite result you are looking for. This game is turning into a back alley crooked casino carrot dangling in front of our nose game and people are getting fed up with it.

Overall, a fun event.

I, like most, didn't get all 8 books in either city, but I did get plenty of duplicates of all the other books. Overall, the books seemed to be more of a distraction than anything, do this, build that, gather, pay, a whole lot of busy work for very little actual rewards. With the number of duplicates I got, if I'm left hanging, it should have been to complete the second set, not hoping to complete the first one. Although nice, I'm not sure if the extra candies from the books were needed to get a level 9 Asylum, I got one in both cities, no diamonds needed. In some ways, I'm glad I never completed a full set, once I had a lavel 9 Asylum guaranteed, an additional large tool package would have only meant clearing more cobwebs to get more books to earn candy for more tools to find more books to earn more candy to find more books.

I liked the books and extra quests, but moving forward, books and side quests like the books would be a great way to restore Random Rewards to events. Next year I'd like to see two of the quests rewards in each book give 10 candies each, the others give Random Rewards. This could also allow an increase in the number of quests per book by two or 3 quests. Say 8 quests per book total. 2 quests give 10 candies each, 1 quest gives the final reward, leaving 5 quests giving Random Rewards. Each book would then allow diamonds to be earned once per quest, per book, like Recurring Quests do per age. Meaning, if the 3rd quest of the second book is a Random Reward and you hit diamonds the 4th time through the book, then that quest in that book will then switch to medals for all future runs of the book. Anyway, something to consider, I do miss Random Rewards in events since Historical Questlines disappeared.

As I said, overall a fun event. I easily ended with a level 9 Abandoned Asylum in both cities, got the remaining 4 upgrades each city needed to have a full Necropolis, plus I picked up 2 Dark Doorways in one city, 3 DDs in the other. All without diamonds. Makes it a good event in my book, even if I don't get the last one, in either city. Liked the books, please add Random Rewards next time.

For those who didn't get a level 9 Asylum just by completing all the event quests, I feel for you. However, there's clearly something YOU did wrong, Inno balanced this event just fine. Plenty of candy, plenty of tools. Instead of calling it 'rigged' and blaming your results on 'Inno just wanting diamonds', why don't you analyze how YOU executed the event to see where your error was so that YOU don't repeat it in this, or other events like it.

Chalk it up to the learning curve and learn, or blame Inno and suck at the event next year. I don't care, I'm not affected either way.

I liked the idea of the books even though I didn't get the full set on my cities . It was something to keep me playing once I was caught up on the dailies and while saving candies to get the large tool packs

I enjoyed the event, got fully leveled asylum in each of four cities, a dark tower, several dark doorways, haunted houses, graveyards and upgrades scattered around, and lots of AD fodder. Alas, only one Library reward; I'd wanted that portrait in each city. No diamonds spent (no budget lol).

I liked the book quests addition, although the drop rate on the rarer ones might be tweaked a bit. Some other good suggestions have been mentioned already.

Priorities. Focus on the vials, ignore pumpkins and books (unless you can snag them with broom or blast going after a vial), and you are pretty much guaranteed the fully leveled grand prize without any spending. Choices. In one city I was one book away from a full set, out of tools and briefly considered spending GE diamonds. My choice? Save em for a land expansion!

It's not a ripoff, nor a bait and switch. It's a fundraiser, and a fun event. Thanks, Inno.

Also don't complete GE level 3 or GE level 4 too early during the week as the players may need them to finish certain event quests that'll require "Complete # of GE Encounters", "Defeat # of Units", "Win # of Battles".

Some settlements aren't really worth the time to doing them as there will always be more "Crow's Nest" and stronger "Abandoned Asylum" in the future.

You cannot have more than 1 Yggdrasil Tree, but you can have as many Dark Doorways as you want.

Whereas I thoroughly enjoyed the event that was similar to this one, I really didn't enjoy this one. If i had to do over i would not have done the books unless i needed candy to get the upgrades. I got all the upgrades and on the last day I actually even completed the books but I don't know why I wasted all that time and resources as there weren't any rewards worth it. The books added a frustration because they are built on luck. So I tended to feel aggravated from getting so many repeats and thinking I would never get the 2 I was missing. The incidents were another aggravation as I was unlucky alot not getting candy. When I was needing more candy and was lucky enough to even find an incident, it was rarely candy. So I felt like a loser most the time. iKnow that may seem strange since i got a fully upgraded asylum and the book award but I really did not enjoy this event. The books were optional so I shouldn't have done them and in the future if they make another event like this one, I will only go after the main prize. I think I would have enjoyed this event if I'd done that this time.

Didn't finish most of the books (I think I only did 2) and still got a level 9 asylum with 300+ candies remaining, just keep pushing forward and ignore the empty cobwebs, same as the archeology one, that's the key to these types of events

A little disappointed that no reward for top 10% , top 5% was given like the last event. Especially after the whole event was so draining on resources and time.

I'm pretty sure Inno times the GE stuff to coincide with the the start of the weekly GE cycle, so it shouldn't be a big problem for players who push to stay as the most current daily quests ASAP.

Your basic premise is wrong, players all through this thread and the Progress thread scored lvl 9 Asylums without spending Diamonds. Those that didn;t typically made play mistakes like lighting up every web, or buying small toolsets, or going out of the way uncovering Pumpkins and Books.

If you haven't quit already, maybe ask your Guildies how many got lvl 9 Asylums without spennding Diamonds?
