Halloween Event 2020 Feedback

Nice trick INNO. Leaving me with just enough potential to grab that second wolfhouse lured me in. I wonder if many other folks got hooked as well?
Algona, you are not my favorite person right now. Just when I thought I was mostly done here, other than spending the last few tickets that trickle in, and finishing up a few more doll quests. Got what I wanted out of this, a second AA and the wolf house. Mission accomplished.
Now you've got me looking at my free diamond stash (not as big as yours, but I'm a newbie ;). Probably more than enough to get another wolf house without suffering buyers remorse. And I still haven't found Betty Lou. Really bugs me that I can't get that Chuckles avatar that I will never use. I wonder why that is?
Guess it's back to the tent for me. Anyone have a flashlight I can borrow? (Or credit card?).

Didn't care for this event, in large part because there are too many players reporting that they have not received the opportunity to complete the entire doll set, and yes, some of them are spenders as well. I have not gotten one of the dolls and have uncovered every single fog square to know what's under them. I am NOT complaining; it is what it is. Seems as though to me the actual dolls themselves may have been better served if they were not random, but that's just an opinion. Daily prizes seemed truly difficult for some to receive while many others are reporting they had no real issue obtaining them. Seems to me that this wide disparity may cause some to become disheartened with the game, or with events in general, which doesn't increase INNO's chances of getting players to spend.

I don't think anyone has mentioned one of my favorite things about the Event - the relatively small size of the House of Horrors making it easy to place in my city. I spent diamonds to get a second one, first time I've done that, but I probably wouldn't have it it were much larger even if the benefits were correspondingly scaled up. (I still was missing 2 toys at the end.)

If this did happen any ideas on how you'd like it implemented? Or if you'd like some sort of hybrid implementation?
I would suggest dropping the dolls/books (for archaeology event) and give out "X" number of tickets in the daily chests. Kind of like the lockpicks/fall ingredients.

Just my 2 pennies.

After completing all the Toy Quests for the first time you never offer any replacement for the Clown Avatar.Could you not have offered Level 1 of the House Of Horrors for the next times you completed all the Toys quests? I have plenty of the updates but they are useless without Level 1.All because you made them upgrades instead of selections.Greedy,Greedy.Greedy!!!!!!

They could have just made the drop rate equal for all the dolls instead of being extremely small rate for the 2nd row. This would have clearly increased player activity too in search of that extra ticket set.

Seems like they goofed up in balancing opposite priorities - increasing activity but limiting the number of tickets you can get.

With my objective being an AA and a Wolf acquired, then add in some stuff to sell to the AD plus the usual like coins, supplies, Medals, units and a variety of buildings., The reward factor was satisfactory to me. I missed out on one Toy but with everything else going well, the Halloween event rates at or above 90% in my book. Formerly scarce Incident Tickets came along more frequently as the event got close to the end. Using the basic game seen in Archaeology made for an easier play experience. Color me glad I participated!

I managed to get an new, fully upgraded AA and the main prize. For the first time since Inno introduced the side quests, I was finally able to find and complete a full set for the bonus prizes.

I see lot's of complaints from those not getting complete sets. This is my 4th, maybe 5th event and I just completed my first full set. No complaints here, I like that the full set is rare. Makes getting it more special.

It looks like I’m going to finish one upgrade short as well. Hoping the AA goes to the auction house soon and I can get the final upgrade that way.
Didn’t expect the AA to come back the last day so I had spent all my tickets. Used the last 50 to get some candles and ended up finding 2 pumpkins. The last pumpkin gave me my final AA kit. Wild ending to the event. Really glad I don’t have to hope it goes to auction or something.

This event is too casino like imo, some people get everything easy and others get nothing at all. This put a dent in my enthusiasm for the game..

Low number of posts in this thread compared to other Events.

Major complaints were about daily prize drop rates and completingToysets. More on that in the spoilers.

Complete Grand Prize was pretty good and easy to complete. more on that in the spoilers. Good variety of Daily Prizes. Easy Questlines. Fun minigame.

Successful for me personally. Complete Grand Prizes in all three cities, added a second in R by grinding a lot (35? 40?) of Toys and bying 1000 tickets. Added a second AA in all three cities. Got complete sets of Toys in 2 of three cities.

Some recent Events folk were mad that even following optimum strategy there was a fair chance to not win the Event Grand Prize.

That problem was resolved this Event. INNO went the other way, made enough parts available to tempt some folk (me!) to drop Diamonds to get a second Wolfhouse. Or a lot of folk will easily pick up second Wolfhouses in next year's Event.

----------

The toy thing or portraits? Neither was needed, to complete the Grand Prize, understandably irritating.

Maybe some kind of trade in ala BPs? (Nah, Folk would complain about that as well)

How about a goal of 40 or so total toys qlso counting as a complete set?

I like the toy thing, it gives a nice way for grinders to add to their Tickets totals even if not getting a complete set.

Final count of Clown Avatars at the end of Event - I saw 13 between hoodies Guildies and Freinds, about 600 players across three worlds.

----------

The bigger gripe was about daily prize drop rate.

I'm too lazy and no one else published any comparison of the drop percentages compared to previous Events.

Until someone does that, anecdotal comparisons to previous Events are meaningless.

How much is drop rate and how much is technique?

A fair number of the folk complaining about drop rates noted they lit up every tile. (Not uncovered, just made the contents visible.)

I think technique and expereince has a lot to do with results.

However... Maybe INNO listened?

That third AA prize the last full day of the Event was not in Beta. Maybe INNO added it in to respond to the complaints about drop rates?

My pet theory? Wolfhouse was pretty easy to get and we all 'knew' AA would only be offered twice. So a lot of players went 'all in' on the second AA day, spent all their accumulated tickers onn the minigame, got their Wolfhouse and then didn't bother logging back in to spend the tickets they accumulated afterwards. Random dev manager saw the minigame play metric was down and added the third AA day to stimulate numbers.

Summary: Easy to get Grand Prize and third offering of AA were the biggest chamges form Recent Events.

A good Event. Thanks, INNO,

End game summary for me:

Fun event as always since this format was introduced in the original Archeology event. My favorite format of any event.

Main building was easy to finish for free in my main city with a few extra pieces thanks to the side quests (11 pieces). Ended up with 13 pieces after 4k diamonds.

Side quest monkey toy was too rare compared to the others, same as in prior events.

After deciding to spend 4000 diamonds on my main city, in the end after spending all the quest tickets and diamond tickets on Large Tool Packages, using the tools won from finishing all the toy quests, I only won 3 daily specials. That is a very tiny number compared to previous events. Across 3 worlds I only got a total of 4 daily specials.

It appears to me that there were less pumpkins in this event from comparing screenshots of this event with last year's event, which could have made all the difference. In any case, that was the only disappointing part of the event.

Nice main prize, pretty easy to get when playing with some thought, and duplicates quite possible to get for those so inclined. Seems like Inno listened to complaints about a recent event being so tight that one mistake could kill chances of getting the main prize. Thanks!

The toys/dolls thing seemed to me to be just about what it's been like before - one or two crazy hard to find and then one or two others discovered repeatedly. I got a complete set for one city, and was short 2 of the bottom row in 3 other cities. I'm not an avatar collector so I'm not all that disappointed. I was grinding for tickets, and didn't go out of my way to collect toys except as during the course of going for lightbulbs, or pumpkins on the AA days. Maybe the rarity makes it a more special collectible?

Drop rate on the daily special? Add me to the "felt like it was a little low" crowd, although I know luck here tends to be a bit streaky or clumpy. Managed to get enough for one city to build its second AA, but not as lucky on the other three.

And applause to Inno for the pleasant surprise of the AA as the final daily prize. Once again, looks like they have been listening. Nice event.

Couple of great suggestions already given in response to your question any of which I would truly be in favor of seeing implemented. Would be nice if by doing "x" number of toolkits the possibility for the entire set is assured. And before some of you roast away, please understand that I couldn't care less about the avatar given as the prize. The idea of the bonus set of tools to be used at the winner's discretion was the only reason I chose to do the doll quests in the first place. And I am fully aware, and take no issue, with the fact that nothing is promised nor is it "unfair", nor in any way do I feel cheated by INNO because I did not receive it.

Got my fully leveled AA at the end of the second day it was offered, but it went down to my last saved ticket to get it, and even though I didn't end up needing it, I thought that throwing it out there for a third day was a nice gesture by Inno for those who may not have.

I understood going in that the odds were lower for the daily special than in other events, but the 'drop rate' for them was still over the top low IMO, except for a few that seem to have gotten way luckier than everyone else.

I don't think every event needs to drop 4 Villa's or 20 Lukoi tracks for those who spend and/or save up their currency for the best buildings, but there should be an payoff to doing either, otherwise why bother saving or spending? There has to be a sweet spot somewhere in between the two extremes, there almost always is, hopefully we'll see it at the Archaeology event, which will be my first time for that one.

At the end of the day, although I didn't get the two AA's I was looking to get, I did get one, and two Wolf Houses to go with it, so I'm far from upset with the event as a whole
