Historical allies

Other than events and rival is there another way to "up" them or get more frags? What is the Heroic Taverne and how do you obtain it?

Heroic Taverne is testing on beta now.... each week You can do red and blue fights, donate medals or forge points, and do negs to gain levels on Your allies..... Another way for FoE to eat up your day....
I am going to have to retire early just so I can spend the appropriate amount of time on FOE to keep up.

yeah. The key thing is remember nothing has to be done. It is all voluntary.
I decided right off the skip the Allies. Which will become just a gradually all enveloping headache. They figure start it out slow. get players invested in it , then just keep making it more and more complicated... until it is all consuming for the fools who fell for it at the start and thought it would be good.
Yeah right.
Inno developers can't seem to realize the game is already too complicated. Adding more things to do is madness. Unless you just step back, and say NO, you're gonna end up being sorry you bought into it.

I do not see the game as complicated. It is just so full of cheap copies of existing phone type games that have been tweeked so they can maquerade as "Events" and features. None are actually that complicated. But clumping more and more of them together like this just takes up to much time and effort. The actual original "Forge of Empires" no longer exists. It has become a platform for clutter.

Same notion in different words.:)
My response is to just not do some of the excess junk.
I do the parts I like (or need to do to stay in my Guild(s)

The one best thing is skipping out on most Events has not harmed my game.

I play on PC so my thought is beta is phone? Thanks for your answers. I too can barely keep up with one world. I know some with four. No thanks.

Retired or not there is not enough interest in this game any longer. And it does not take folks long to see the changes are just making things even more boring. So they stop playing, So INNO adds more thinking that will generate more interest. Rinse and repeat. I am getting to where it is ok to play if I am stuck in doors because of bad weather. And because of the friends I have made over the years. But I am simply going through the motions. They are going to have to come up with something genuinely real to change the boredom.

Why do I have three difgferent Alexanders with different levels?
I understand there are rare-uncommon-common (and EPIC?) but they are not identified in the rewards process until after you get them.
In any case why? Maybe just one icon you can upgrade, otherwise it is an expensive gamble to get one.

Why three? because the programmers at Inno who do the Heros program either are lazy or severely underpaid, or are just plain dumb., And have a inexplicable desire to make everything as complicated as they can in bizarre ways ...thinking that shows they are 'creative' when in reality they are clueless hacks.
I apologize to the programmers who actually care, but are endlessly hampered by the short sighted bean-counters who rule over them.

Lest we forget. Those buildings are also limited to a certain level of hero also.

Stuff like this is why the parents of the Inno/Foe development team need to make sure they never have a firearm.

The one thing I really love about Historic Allies is that they can be totally forgotten about. Am sure I have some bits (or maybe even a completed one) buried in my inventory. But as I am doing great in the game without them, why should I waste time checking on them.

Absolutely!
What's irritating is rewarding random three levels of frags during Events and Rivals.
Many of the new wrinkles from INNO are great for new or rising players.
I am a Decader, I have spent $$$ on FOE. I miss the Guild Society around GVG. I enjoyed the tactics of manual play. My game has evolved into many index finger clicking contests.
Rant over.

Allies should be streamlined before it get's spread further. In my opinion every building with a room for ally should be able to hold every version. I think it's a layer to much after having common - uncommon - rare and the levels on top of it you need the right building to put them. There shouldn't be limitation on where to put them. Should be like Emissaries.
