Dear Queens and Kings,

If you follow our Beta forums, you may have heard that - for a while now - we've been checking the performance of the so called "Incidents" feature. So what are the incidents about? From time to time (not very often though), you can expect a small, unusual event to take place in your city or in its vicinity. When you click it, you will receive a small, random reward.
Incidents can appear in the wilderness, on the shore, or even on water, as well as in the city - on the roads.

Since our performance check on Beta provided limited information, we want to verify the feature's impact in the live environment as well. While doing so, we we want to make sure that it's not hurting any area of the game (mainly your activity as a player). That is why we will not activate it directly for everyone, but for randomly selected group of players. So please do not worry if you don't find anything special in your city at the beginning. If we confirm that everything works as expected, we will activate the feature for everyone/. Gathering data will take at least two to three weeks, so we would like to ask you for patience.

Just to give you a general idea about what the incidents look like, please take a look at a few examples:

incident_mammoth1.png
An archaeological site with mammoth bones.

incident_kite1.png
A kite stuck in a tree.

incident_sos1.png
A distress signal on a beach.

incident_rhino1.png
A stranded rhino on a raft.

incident_blockedroad1.png
Blocked road (note that it will stop the traffic!)

The incidents come in different rarities: common (for example the kite), uncommon (mammoth bones) and rare (rhino). When you click on an incident, it will disappear and give you something in return. It will be in-game resources, including coins and supplies, but also medals, boosts or even tiny amounts of Diamonds. Of course rare incidents will contain better rewards than the common or uncommon ones.
If you are among the players who can see incidents already now, you should know that they show up randomly throughout the day. There will be at least one, but not more than a few incidents per day in your city (or around it). Since incidents are visually small, it can happen that you miss them from time to time. Especially the ones in the city may be harder to notice. But don't worry - incidents are renewed daily, so keep your eyes open and search your city and the surroundings.

We hope that you like this small addition to the game. If you have comments, please feel free to add your post in the feedback thread.

Thank you for playing Forge of Empires!

Sincerely,
Your Forge of Empires Team

Dear Queens and Kings,

Incidents have been re-tuned and activated for all players effective October 18th. We would like to thank everyone who has participated so far and also those that have remained patient while waiting for this new feature. You helped us fine-tune Incidents to make them as enjoyable as possible for all our players.

If you've already logged in today, you may not see any incidents in your city just yet, but come the 18th, they should start popping up for you as well!

Enjoy hunting for Incidents in and around your town and we hope you like their rewards!

Sincerely,
Your Forge of Empires Team
