All the worlds were released in alphabetical order. As such, you'll find it at the bottom of the list. In this case it is Birka.

Only the INNO gods (the devs and executives) know, if they're even planning to release a new world in the first place.

Are there typically a few months between world releases?

Birka was released in October of last year. Angkor, which came before, came out in March of the year before. Over a year an a half in release difference.
