Main city buildings to boost QI army

Forgotten Temple, Tourney Grounds, fully developed Settlement Buildings, Fromage Pavilion, Etherial Fountain provide boosts for the QI army
Awesome, thanks so much for this information. I’ve been thinking about making a spreadsheet of the different buildings in my inventory but I know that’ll be a huge challenge.

You have to finish the Settlements early to get the Asc frags. If you hover over the Chests in the settlement, you can see how many frags you can win by finishing early. The earlier the more frags.
The correct answer is "complete another pass through of the settlement". If a player already has a L9 Shinto completing another pass through, regardless of the time taken, will win an ascended upgrade. Winning the chests will result in additional frags of the upgrade (winning gold earns enough frags for a second upgrade).

That works too. However, I have a full Asc in inventory and have not completed another pass thru. I have collected enough frags to attain one by finishing early enough and will be able to use it once I am done with the settlement.

Sorry but this doesn't make sense. You have an Ascended Shinto upgrade in inventory but have not completed another pass thru since the changes were implemented? Unless you had Japan active when the changes were rolled out (and INNO completed all in progress Settlements) this is not possible. A player has to complete the Settlement on time to collect frags.

Which buildings can be built in the main city to help boost the defense for my attacking army?
Im working on my Settlement buildings just need 2 more play throws
Be real great to have them all in my city that will make a big impact on QI

In that case, I can't help you. I was very clear from the beginning. If you fail to see how another avenue is possible, you'll have to play it out yourself to prove me wrong. Which in that case you will prove me right. Strange, I know.

You've discovered a way to get frags of Ascended settlement building upgrades without completing the settlements, eh? ROFL

Now your just trolling. Your reply to @Henrik the Seer was incomplete. I'll leave it at that.
Ahhh, nice. Now it's incomplete. Which by default implies that your "correct answer" is also incomplete. Which is not at all what you first posited. What we learned here, despite your lack of acknowledging it, is there is more than 1 avenue to upgrade a Settlement building to the Ascended level. This was fun.

Actually, my answer was complete. It's not possible to get an ascended upgrade kit, or frags of a kit, without completing a pass thru. The only "avenue" to the ascended upgrade is by completing the settlement. There are two ways to acquire an upgrade kit but that is a branch in the "avenue" that only occurs after the settlement is completed.
