ORIGINAL IDEA BY @belisarioos. THIS WAS ORIGINALLY UNFORMATTED, SO I REFORMATTED IT CORRECTLY.

Idea:
New questline/event rewarding a "Military Academy" set.

Have you Checked the Ideas section for the same idea posted by someone else? Is this idea similar to one that has been previously suggested?
Correctly formatted version of an unformatted New Idea, seen here: https://forum.us.forgeofempires.com/index.php?threads/military-academies.40744/

Reason:
Helping someone format an Idea correctly. Also, I think this would help with recruitment of units and it would make PvP battles harder because players will have more units to use as defenders.

Details:
The Military Academies are as follows:
Four 3x3 Buildings (adapt to current age like a WW and Alcatraz does not count these as military buildings)
Pentagon +1 Current Age Heavy Unit*. +10 ATK when next to one other MIL Academy. +1 Current Age Heavy Unit* when next to two unique MIL Academy. Total: +2 Current Heavies, +10% ATK for Attackers
St Cyr. +1 Light Unit*. +10 %DEF (When ATK) when next to one other MIL Academy. +1 Current Age Light Unit* when next to two unique MIL Academy. Total: +2 Current Lights, +10% DEF for Attackers
Sandhurst +1 Fast Unit*. +10 City DEF when next to one other MIL Academy. +1 Current Age Fast Unit* when next to two unique MIL Academy. Total: +2 Current Fasts, +10% DEF for Defenders
PLA National Defense University +1 Current Age Ranged Unit*. When next to one other MIL Academy 1% to kill a unit once each first wave battle. Total: +1 Current Ranged, +10% chance for a critical hit on a same era unit (150% damage).
One 2X3 Building (adapt to current age like a WW and Alcatraz does not count these as military buildings)
General Staff Academy +1 Current Age Champion +1 Any Age Random(but not your current) Champion when next to three unique MIL Academy. Total: A random choice between a current age Champion or a lower age Champion.

There is a 15 quest long quest line, which is presented by General Grivus. You receive a new quest every day of the event, and all the quests are "Defeat this two-wave army." Every quest rewards 2 FP or some coins, alternatingly, and every three quests, you receive a Military Academy.
Visual Aids:
Military Academies Layout Suggested.png
Capture.PNG
Put a quest bubble under the Nameless marked "Special" and put Grivus in it.
General Grivus presents them all.
Quest 1 (Day 1): "Your Grace! A wonderful opportunity has arisen. I have heard of an elite training program that we could implement in our own city! It would give us a large advantage over our enemies." Need: Defeat this two-wave army. Reward: 2 FP
Quest 2 (Day 2): "Your Grace! This training program requires a large amount of resources, but the payoff will be well worth it." Need: Defeat this two-wave army. Reward: Large Coins package.
Quest 3 (Day 3): "Your Grace! I have learned more about this program, and there are five different divisions of it. I believe we have mastered the first. Need: Defeat this two-wave army. Reward: Pentagon
Quest 4 (Day 4): "Your Grace! Now that we have mastered heavily armored combat, let's move on to the next division." Need: Defeat this two-wave army. Reward: 2 FP
Quest 5 (Day 5): "Your Grace! This division focuses on units with light feet. These are great supporting units for your heavy units." Need: Defeat this two-wave army. Reward: Large Coins Package
Quest 6 (Day 6): "Your Grace! We've mastered this division as well." Need: Defeat this two-wave army. Reward: St. Cyr
Quest 7 (Day 7): "Your Grace! Now we need to focus on the division which supports your Light units." Need: Defeat this two-wave army. Reward: 2 FP
Quest 8 (Day 8): "Your Grace! This division focuses on units who travel quickly across the battlefield." Need: Defeat this two-wave army. Reward: Large Coins package
Quest 9 (Day 9): "Your Grace! We've mastered this division as well." Need: Defeat this two-wave army. Reward: Sandhurst
Quest 10 (Day 10): "Your Grace! We need units to back up or Fast calvary. Let's focus on that division." Need: Defeat this two-wave army. Reward: 2 FP
Quest 11 (Day 11): "Your Grace! These units will need to excel at long-range combat." Need: Defeat this two-wave army. Reward: Large Coin package
Quest 12 (Day 12): "Your Grace! We've mastered this division." Need: Defeat this two-wave army. Reward: PLA Academy
Quest 13 (Day 13): "Your Grace! All good armies need a leader. Let's focus on training very brave, courageous, units." Need: Defeat this two-wave army. Reward: 2 FP
Quest 14 (Day 14): "Your Grace! We need these units so we can become champions!" Need: Defeat this two-wave army. Reward: Large Coin Package
Quest 15 (Day 15): "Your Grace! We've completed the elite program and we've become masters of the battlefield." Need: Defeat this two-wave army. Reward: General Staff Academy

Each two-wave army gains a 2% attack boost each day. Day 1 is 0% boost, Day 2 is 2%, Day 3 is 4%, etc. Similar to GBG attrition
A two-wave army is, obviously, an army with two waves. In this case, the armies in the waves are determined randomly for the first wave, and the second wave is determined by another means. It's easier to explain, so here goes.
The first wave of a battle is Mounted Warriors, so the Iron Age attacker might use a Soldier and 7 Rogues. The second wave is full of Legionnaires, which are powerful against Soldiers. The second wave of a "two-wave" battle is always strong against the weakness of the armies in the first wave.
Wave 1: Fast(Weak to Light) Wave 2: Heavy(Strong to Light)
Wave 1: Heavy(Weak to Ranged) Wave 2:Fast(Strong to Ranged)
Wave 1: Light(Weak to Heavy) Wave 2: Ranged(Strong to Heavy)
Wave 1: Ranged(Weak to Fast) Wave 2: Light(Strong to Fast)
Wave 1: Artillery(No specific weakness) Wave 2: Artillery(Strong to Heavy)

Balance:
These buildings are on 2 day production cycle, but reduced by Guild recruitment boost.

Abuse Prevention:
None that I see.

Summary: A new quest line that runs for 15 days in a new quest tab marked "Special", which appears as seen above in the spoiler marked "Quest Tab". The questline rewards a new building set, which is then used for recruiting new units and other army bonuses.

Could be a Historical Quest around D-Day, Memorial Day, Waterloo, Veteran's Day.

Well thought out idea. I might consider building the ranged and heavy since these buildings are often smaller than regular ones, and 10% attack in a 3x3 is pretty decent. Doesn't appear to be overpowered, and might actually be unwanted by those with a decently leveled Alcatraz if they cause a 'Traz to output random units that match the building(s) constructed.

I am assuming that the units produced are unattached? If so, I'd probably build the Champ one too, at least until I get a Bronze Champ that I can put out as a sole defender, since like the Horseman it is the lowest battle points unit available.

I'll vote yes just on the uniqueness of the buildings, and let the devs consider it and decide for themselves whether or not there are any balance or other issues.

Linking the original thread is great, but it should have listed the person's name in the top post of this thread and the fact that you have reformatted it for them. Since it is reformatted, there really isn't any reason to click the provided link, so it would be easy to miss the fact that you were doing a service and were not the idea originator. Besides, the linked thread could get removed by mods for it's duplicate status in which case no one would know. Not a huge deal in the long run, but certainly a proper courtesy that should have been extended.

Alright, thanks. Updated it.

Yes.You should only get one Champ of your choosing. Not two.
All units are unattached.
Not sure the mechanism for choosing which era Champ you get.
Random seems ok as long as no repeats.
or
You choose an era by paying coin cost.
I think random is better, if you have to pay it starts getting complex.
