No, it isn't. It shorts you the previous age goods, which are still needed for many things (GE, tech, etc...)

The best practice is to hoard coins and supplies and then repeatedly complete the Unbirthday Quest once you reach the new era.

I don't need any goods for my Guild Expedition as I absolutely don't negotiate, it's a waste for me especially in GE level 4.

If you see my screenshot on post #13, my Basalt and Brass are way over-supplied, consider they are the previous age goods when I'm in Colonial.
