Sakura rocks not working?

I added Sakura rocks as part of a threesome group so each piece touches the other 2.

I think they made my points go up. They went up, I am never clear exactly what does that. So many things to keep track of, I just enjoy messing around.

I see no boosts when I look at the Town Hall boost overview, and they should boost my attack numbers and the army units boosting numbers have not budged from before I added them. The Sakura rocks don't show up at all, but my grand king and queen set show up.

What are the odds I have broken something? Or is this a case I just need to wait on a pending database refresh to sort it out.

set pieces require *different* pieces of the set to get the bonuses.

So a sakura rock next to a sakura rock does nothing but its base happiness.

But a sakura rock next to a gong of wisdom unlocks the first bonus on each. A second gong next to both will not add any new bonuses to those two though and will only have one bonus itself from the sakura rock.

Now a sakura rock next to a gong of wisdom, an Emperor's Entrance, and a Zen Zone will have all 3 of its bonuses unlocked.

As for the ranking points: Every building gives points based on the era it belongs to and its footprint consumed (and whether it's a "special" building). A sakura rock will give the same points as any other size-6 event building of the same era. Regardless of which is better.

Well I guess I wasted them and will just delete them all. Instructions weren't clear to me. Ho hum.

Do not delete them. put them into storage and collect the other pieces. They will come up in events and in the AD.
Or do delete them because even if you did have the pieces to make them functional they're not good enough to be worth the trouble anymore.

What xivarmy says. Done and dusted. It's a game.
One thing that seems to be all set buildings is that you can do fewer than the "full set" in order to get the boosts provided they are not the same piece, e.g., two Sakuras + 1 Zen Zone OR that you don't use a particular piece as a part of your "lower than full grouping" in your "mini-set." For instance, the Gong in the Cherry Garden sets does NOT work to create the 5-piece set bonus unless it's the full 5 pieces in that set, e.g., doesn't work on 3 or 4 pieces. Most people looking to use fewer than 5 pieces per 'unit' on the Cherry Garden sets choose leave out the gong despite the >fp production and the Nishigoi since it's boost is happiness in favor of the >FPs/attack boosts from the other 3.

Something else to be cautious of if you're worried about being plundered: virtually all set pieces are still plunderable even when motivated. It's a huge detraction from them, imho, even after having kind of (yeah, kind of, lol!!) grown out of worrying about plundering. It's just the principal of the thing for me!! :)
