Cruel cruel reality.
The total number of people on the friends is 140 and that includes yourself, so yes, it is 139 that you can aid. BUT I stand corrected on the total: it should have stated 292. (The only thing I can guess is that I entered one of the totals incorrectly on my calculator).Aside from the fact that you can have more than 74 neighbors and you can have 140 friends, not 139, math isn't your strong point, is it? 79+139+74=172?!? More like 292.
You completely glossed over this from the post you corrected.79 max from guild + 139 max from friends + 74 max from neighbors = 172 total possible aids.
Glossed over this. You're only counting guild (and you added aiding yourself....?).
Do I really need to keep going through a blow-by-blow of just how correct my math was?100 for the task leaves you 72 to count towards the 2nd day's RQ, so what is the actual problem here? 3 days = 172*3 = 426 so you'd actually be able to accomplish 4+ RQs in only 3 days. I'm still failing to see this as a problem. (Drat the luck that we'd actually not be able to automate everything to make each individual player happy......)
Incorrect. the total ls is 140 without you. You added in the list makes 141 total players shown in Friends listThe total number of people on the friends is 140 and that includes yourself, s
The bottom line is that you found one - ONE - actual mathematical error on my part and you want to throw my whole argument in the trash based on math.
I happen to know this because of that rotten "bug" or whatever it was last year when some worlds had probs w/the list maxing out at 80 (when we were still doing the invite X and accept X invites). And the 80 includes 'me,' so, no, you are incorrect. (I submitted a ticket on that issue and had word back from the devs that 80 included me -- so do you want to pick a fight with the people who work for the company who created that list!?!?) I have 140 on my friends list on my main and it never had that crazy buglet and guess what? There are 140 and I'm in there, too. The same is true on both the guild and neighborhood tabs.Incorrect. the total ls is 140 without you. You added in the list makes 141 total players shown in Friends list
Baloney. You see mountain and I just know that I type too much but that's not the same thing. I'm verbose but I'm not grandiose. You do that yourself all the time. Find some little error and tun it into a giant rant over and over again (just like your last post. turning a molehill into another mountain) .
If I were a technical writer, I'd agree with you. But for my style and preference of using full sentences, yes, it does take that many words. If you don't like what I write, then please, do scroll on.I suppose you really think it takes all those words to disagree with those statements?
No it does not, and your verbosity does not make you right either
Oh, please! Considering the person to whom I was speaking to, that's a laugh riot! NOT. I have replied to such corrections with the short and sweet "I stand corrected" only to walk into a plethora of miles-long replies -- most of which are bashing me on my verbosity and inability to accept correction. That's ludicrous. I think when you little groupies get together and decide it's Naitonal Bash Mor Day that you just go cross-eyed or something!! I can't win for losing so why should I truncate! Maybe if I write a lot y'all will just ignore me and go sell that mess to someone else. You were wrong. why not just allow it with a yes I was incorrect.
"Ego defensive crap." Is that in the DSM? It doesn't even make sense, even as slang.instead of attempting to escalate it for no reason other than ego defensive crap! .
Like you're not a part of the same club, Sir. Do I need to start calling you Mr. Pot now? LOLYou and Pericles and Johnny B. deserve each other LoL
If you have 140 on your friends tab (including you) then you have room for one more. It's time for one of your elusive "I stand corrected" posts.I happen to know this because of that rotten "bug" or whatever it was last year when some worlds had probs w/the list maxing out at 80 (when we were still doing the invite X and accept X invites). Please show me from my post that you quoted where exactly I threw your "whole argument in the trash". I'll wait. I simply corrected your ONE math and TWO factual errors. Briefly and succinctly, which are two other things you're not strong in.The bottom line is that you found one - ONE - actual mathematical error on my part and you want to throw my whole argument in the trash based on math.
It actually does not include yourself, and the attachment you shared from Support says nothing about you being included in the 140 number (or the 80 number, for that matter.)The total number of people on the friends is 140 and that includes yourself, so yes, it is 139 that you can aid.
You do realize that the very first line of that message from Support specifically states that they were telling you that it wasn't a bug, right? The friends list mechanic was working exactly as intended. Not to mention that the friends list was never restricted to 80 friends. It has been 140 since at least 2015 when I started playing. The number you could invite used to be restricted to 80 max, but you could always accept more friends up to the max of 140, not including yourself.I happen to know this because of that rotten "bug" or whatever it was last year when some worlds had probs w/the list maxing out at 80 (when we were still doing the invite X and accept X invites). See attachment below of my trouble ticket. That was before they went to the full list of 140 but the info I just stated above is pretty darned clear! So don't you tell me that I'm wrong when I have it from a community manager that I'm not wrong!!!
Look at this one where I've circled it for you. (I can't speak specifically to the 140 outside of what I've seen on my own friends bar and what was said in this ticket several years ago when it was still 80/60. I think the fact that the manager stated that it was 1-79 is pretty telling, though. Please show me from my post that you quoted where exactly I threw your "whole argument in the trash". I'll wait. YES, Johnny, I realize that. I had to escalate the ticket and that was the reply that I received from a Co-Community Manager after there were several replies from both sides. I didn't see the need for copying all of the tickets as they had to do with the fact that I could not get MORE than 80 no matter how many FRs were sent by me or by others to me. Are you going to tell me that you've never even heard of a situation where a bug (or whatever) mysteriously disappears when you push it and push it and finally escalate it? I know I've heard of it plenty of times and I've experienced in this very case. (Yes, shortly after that last reply my problems w/being able to have 140 TOTAL friends was "solved." I didn't stay mad; I was just happy that it was over and FIXED).You do realize that the very first line of that message from Support specifically states that they were telling you that it wasn't a bug, right?
Would you like me to make a bigger picture of my attachment for you? Maybe the print is more than you can handle. Look at the 2nd circle and just since you and Pericles want to just trash everything I say instead of dealing with my original comment and my following replies ON THE SAME TOPIC.The friends list mechanic was working exactly as intended. And you may well see that once I add about 5 more people (or 6, if you are correct) since I'm at 135 right now. (I must have cleared it recently). I can say this much from recent memory -- I've never seen that 141 before and I've had more than ample experience at having to remove people so that I could either send or receive an invite -- when my bar was at 140.If you have 140 on your friends tab (including you) then you have room for one more. The attachments on both posts are the same except for you circling part of it the second time. And just because I already know that you are going to try to smash me about whether or not I "understood," well, here's another attachment of one my previous replies to support on that same ticket. Look at the time/date stamp - it was before Blaze responded to me with the most definitive answer I received (the one I attached earlier).
Yes, it is telling that he said 0-79 (not 1-79) friends. Friends does not include you.Look at this one where I've circled it for you. So the "bug" had nothing at all to do with whether or not you were included in the 80 or the 140, you just had a bug in your game where you couldn't get over 80 friends period. Nice. Has nothing to do with this discussion, though.(Yes, shortly after that last reply my problems w/being able to have 140 TOTAL friends was "solved." I didn't stay mad; I was just happy that it was over and FIXED).
Well, maybe if you'd quit doubling down on your misinformation we'd quit "trashing" everything you say.Would you like me to make a bigger picture of my attachment for you? Well I guess that we won't be seeing an "I stand corrected" post from you. Just because you haven't seen something does not mean that it does not exist. I just showed you proof positive that the limit on the FL is not 140 as you have been claiming yet you still want to dig in your heels. I'm not surprised. And you may well see that once I add about 5 more people (or 6, if you are correct) since I'm at 135 right now. (I must have cleared it recently). Actually it had everything to do with why I and at least 20 other people I knew to be trustworthy sent in tickets on this issue. Mt Killmore wasn't the only world affected but that's how many people I knew from that server who had the same problem. IDENTICAL. There was a lot of talk about it back then and I didn't even remember the details of that time until after I reread the entirety of the tickets/replies today but I can assure you that I remember seeing actual copies of submitted tickets by other players and the absolutely crazy replies we were all seeing. I'm not trying to bash Inno here - but there was a pretty major problem and it was hardly only 20 or 40 or even 60. If I recollect correctly, there were a fair number of hotspots that showed up online about the issue on things like Reddit and other places where gaming/computer things are featured. I was actually surprised at how much of it was out there since I rarely visit such sites. It wasn't all that much later in time that the current system of 140 total was introduced rather than the 60/80 split so maybe that was what "fixed" the problem. I neither know nor do I care since all I cared about what that it worked. So the "bug" had nothing at all to do with whether or not you were included in the 80 or the 140, you just had a bug in your game where you couldn't get over 80 friends period. All that I can think of to say is do you remember the discussion regarding tangent and tirade? Well, you have gone well beyond tangents and tirades and have crossed over into bizzarro tantrum land. All of this drama over whether, or not, we can have 140 friends (which we can ofc).Actually it had everything to do with why I and at least 20 other people I knew to be trustworthy sent in tickets on this issue. My point is that I only showed the example of the ticket because it did state 79. You can either choose to believe your own eyes or not and I don't really care one way or another but I do care about whether or not you want to take an example I've made and then proceed to tell me what it actually meant. You weren't there and you don't know what was said between me and the mods/devs before or after that one reply nor (does it seem) were you even aware such a problem even existed. Fine. Disagree with me or disbelieve me but don't you dare call me a liar. No, you didn't use the word "liar" but that's just your style: expect everyone else to use crackerjack examples with screenshots to prove it beyond a shadow of a doubt all the while you yourself use ambiguous language when you don't want to be pinned down to a particular opinion.
What I stated earlier was "Besides, what the heck does whether or not it was a bug have to do with price of tea in China? My ticket wasn't a perfect example but it was more than enough to illustrate that the city player is "INCLUDED" in the total."
If you don't agree with my assessment on the issue, whatever. That doesn't make me wrong nor does it make you right. It just makes us different. You and a few others around here seem to think everything around here must be one or the other when more often than not it's all about opinions and whether or not you like it Mr. Man, those are not wrong. They're based on a lot of things but more often than not they're based on one's experience(s) in a given situation and just because you didn't experience it doesn't mean it didn't happen.
I'm tired of trying to explain to you that I was commenting on something completely different and that the example I provided was just to illustrate one tiny part of my original post on that issue. TIRED. You don't want to hear this and maybe I'll even get chat-banned for saying it but here it is: YOU ARE A BULLY. You always have been. You are the worst kind there is -- I've honestly come to believe that you just go around and pick your little fights and spread your ugly little cheer here and there, even liking people's comments and positively repsponding to a few of theirs until they respond positively to you in some way just so you can dive in later like some kind of gore crow and attack when someone's guard is down. You drip on people like you're poison.
I can't believe I actually let myself fall for it this time. A couple of years ago you and your little friends upset me so much I thought I'd actually quit not just the forum but the game itself. I didn't want to be surrounded by such ugly people who seem to live for nothing else but causing others distress all in the almighty cause of being right. I don't care at all about that no matter you may think of me or how I approach such issues because I highly doubt you'd be able to get a fix on me since you are so catastophically bad about getting a fix on anything but the most puerile minutae. (I've seen some of your arguments where you start slinging whole dictionaries and articles at people on some of the most outrageous topics such as whether or not Thanksgiving Day is an American holiday or not). For pages and pages. Crazy. And sure, those other folks are here -- present and accounted for based on their extraneous comments -- to egg you on and then y'all go back to attacking each other when someone like me goes quiet for a while. Go for it. Attack each other until you wind up being chat-banned from each other forever for all I care but just leave me out of your stupid, bullying games.
Other than my comment that will be "y'all were right / wrong" on the 141 issue, I have nothing further to say to you and darned sure don't want to hear anything back from any of you. I'm tired of a bunch of bullies determining whether or not I feel comfortable visiting a forum for a game I enjoy immensely.
JUST LEAVE ME ALONE.
Well, since you clearly didn't understand what Support was telling you, someone needs to clarify it for you. You're still not understanding what he said.My point is that I only showed the example of the ticket because it did state 79. You can either choose to believe your own eyes or not and I don't really care one way or another but I do care about whether or not you want to take an example I've made and then proceed to tell me what it actually meant.
Late and also wrong. There was a cap on invited players for several years after I started playing in 2015. Once your friends list reached 80 you could not send out any more invites, although you could still accept until your list reached 140 (not including you). However, one of the little appreciated facts about how this mechanic worked is that the total on your list for this purpose includes both players who were accepted friends and players who were invited but had not yet accepted or declined the invitation. For example, if you had 75 friends, you could send out 5 invites but no more. Now, of course, that is no longer the case, as you can invite up to the 140 limit, although invites sent but not accepted/rejected will still count against that number. Also, the list cap is 140, but since you are always listed along with them, then the total number in that tab of the Social Bar can reach 141, as @Pericles the Lion demonstrated with his screenshot.Sorry for being late to the party. However, 141 is not the actual cap for a friends list. I don't think there has ever been a cap on invited players, but I know 141 is not the list cap.
Sorry, but you are wrong. I was precise in my wording for a reason. I know well how INNO changed how the list works. I have had to explain the changes to several people who kept asking me to send them an invite, thinking they were unable, long after the changes were made. I usually resorted to telling them to take a chance and see what happens if they send me one. To their shock, it worked. So yeah, I am fully in the know of how it changed.Late and also wrong. Apparently not. There is still the hard cap of 140 on friends/invites. I know this because I have run up against it several times in the last couple of years. When you reach 140 friends/invites you can no longer send out invites, and you probably can't accept invites either at that point. Used to be you could not send out invites after reaching 80 friends/invites. That's what they changed.Sorry, but you are wrong. I was precise in my wording for a reason. No need to argue. You can be wrong all you want. I know this for a fact. Try it. Start sending out invites. At the point where your friends + invites sent reaches 140 you won't be able to send any more. I guarantee it.Where you are wrong is the list limit. It is not 140 or 141 when you include invited players. Argue all you want, but you will still be incorrect.
Sorry.
