Any idea what might've gone wrong? Is forgetting to click the "OK" the only possible explanation? I was so sure I clicked it...

Most quests I've been through that worked like that, you don't even need to complete the construction. You sure you didn't just miss seeing the check after having started the first construction? It does go away after a few seconds.

I encountered a possible bug. It said to build a cultural building from your age or two from the previous. I'm Colonial Age, so I built an Exotic Goods Vendor. I went to bed and woke up to find it constructed...yet I was not awarded the tickets. :/ On the SLIGHT chance that I hadn't clicked the green "OK" button to accept the quest (though I'm pretty sure I did, because I've been advised to in the past), I sadly deleted the cultural building and started constructing another one. And...the green arrow indicating that I'd completed the quest suddenly appeared!
.
It really seems like a bug because I didn't get that green arrow the FIRST time I started constructing a cultural building...unless I maybe didn't click the "OK"? Though I'm pretty sure I did. :unsure:
.
I'm glad that at least just starting construction met the requirement (the second time around, at least...I had to wait the first time), though it was a nice waste of supplies and coins to have to construct the same building twice when I only had to do it once according to the quest. :/

The build quests only require you to place the building in your city. Not have it finished constructing during the quest, so if you place the building in your city before you accepted the quest, then that won't count towards it.

I've GONE TO THE CASINO BUTTON TWICE NOW AND WHEN I GET THERE, THERE IS NOTHING ON THE WHEEL. I PRESS THE REFRESH AND SPIN BUTTON AND NOTHING HAPPENS EXCEPT THAT I LOSE A TICKET. THE WHEEL STAYS BLANK AND I GET NOTHING. WHAT IS HAPPENING HERE???

I agree 100%. Also, Don't have any Decorations, they are a waste of Tickets.

The last quest has diamonds as the reward, you get them when you finish that quest.

It's actually not really the last quest that has the diamonds. There are a few of the complete x number of 24hr productions that come after that.

I would click on the quest and the progress bar would still be red, indicating the quest had not been fulfilled. :/ But both this comment and ByeOrDie's clarify where I went wrong...

I think this must have been what I did. I can no longer recall if I started constructing the building before the quest came along (in the hopes of getting it done sooner, since I figured it was COMPLETION of the building that counted, not just STARTING construction), but I made that mistake just tonight when I started construction of a military building while doing some earlier quests. When the building quest came up, the structure still had about five hours to go, but I had the sneaking suspicion that just placing the building in my city should count toward the quest...so I sold the in-progress building (at a loss, sigh) and started another one now that the quest was in progress. And what do you know, there was the green checkmark immediately. :rolleyes: Didn't have to wait 10+ hours for it to build...
.
I guess I took the practice of starting the 24-hour productions earlier and applied that to the construction of buildings as well, when the results are not the same.
.
Thank you both for clearing that up! Had to learn the hard way, twice. Good thing I have loads of supplies and coins to burn. ;_;
