Unattached Units

I know that once Alcatraz is built you get random unattached troops daily. My question is, I thought if you deleted a military building, once you had alcatraz- the units that were in the military building you removed, merely became unattached troops... I deleted a military building and lost all the troops associated with it... Is this right and normal...???

It is normal. The unattached troops from Alcatraz are separate from the troops you produce in a barrack. Once you delete the barrack the troops associated with it are gone as well.

You do have some control. It randomly selects one of your current military buildings, and creates some unattached troops of that type.
