Guild Power, Guild Level, Guild Global Rank, Prestige and Crowns really only apply to two things; wanting to be number 1 on the leaderboard
and getting some extra benefits
Both of these are only applicable to a guild. A solo player not in a guild has no use for such things.
Guild Power is the same thing as "Crowns"
. Each crown gained gets applied to the Guild Level Progress Bar
Once enough crowns are gained the progress bar will reach the end, the guild will go up one level and the progress bar will go back to zero with a higher crown requirement to reach the following Guild level.
There are currently three main ways to obtain Guild Power/Crowns. Guild Expedition (GE), Guild versus Guild (GvG), Hall of Fame (HoF), a special building only obtainable through events and the fourth minor way is there is another special building the Bazaar where players can produce so many crowns per hour, varies with Age/Era, however this is generally the worse and slowest of the ways to get crowns.
The quickest and easiest way to start accruing guild power is through GE, then GvG, then special buildings. Generally speaking though a guild with a lot of long time members with a lot of HoF's will gain more crowns from those than GE and GvG combined however since HoF's are difficult to come by GE is the best place to start for a newer guild. Theoretically though a guild of 80 Oceanic Future (OF) members completing all of GE will obtain a massive amount of power above HoF's and GvG combined.
With each Guild Level reached the guild also gets Prestige
, 25 Prestige per level
Once a guild reaches level 1 they will be lumped in with all the other Level 1 Guilds on the Global Ranking and moving above those still level 0 guilds in rank
And for every level after they will continue to rise in the rankings.
It's important to understand that there is a limit to how far a guild can go up the ranks in regards to Guild Level. Currently the maximum Guild Level is 75 and with that the maximum Prestige is 1,875. So even if a guild reaches the current maximum Guild Level they can rise no further past 1,875 Prestige and no further up in rank. The ONLY way to go beyond your current guilds prestige/rank while remaining at the current guild level is by obtaining and holding GvG sectors.
Here is an example, notice the guild Arvahall United has 33 Prestiege, they are a Level 1 guild but above level 1 guilds(25 Prestige) yet below level 2 guilds(50 Prestige). This is because they currently hold a GvG sector worth 8 Power/Crowns. 25+8=33. As long as they continue to hold that sector they will continually have 8 extra power/crowns per day calculated into their prestige/rank. When they reach level 2 they will have 58 prestige instead of 50.
This is why you see the top guilds with such high Prestige and at the top of the Rankings, they hold a lot of GvG sectors;
Here's a pic that kind of sums it all up;
