I personally just surround them and do a mosh pit style. Im interested in other forms. Tell me!
I do too, but the issue is that you get no bonus for outflanking them! D:
I form a semi-circle, let one of them go into the middle and then destroy him.
Or i form a circle around my slingers and use them to kill everyone.
Or i just wait for them to come to me and kill them.
Or i split my army in two, 4 to the left and 4 to the right, it splits the enemy and makes it much easier to kill them...
Not sure which is best, will have to wait and see!
I agree with Narwhal. But, I am still playing with the economic aspect of the game as well, so sometimes I don't fight at all.
That's what i'm doing at the moment.
Trying to research stuff, wish i could speed the forge points generator up!
My tactic depends on the units that I use and the terrain.
I sometimes just take the trees or bushes and wait them to come to me and send a unit or two to the differnt sides, but not too far so I can go back where the most of my units are.I do this because most of the time AI will send few units to those sides and sometimes I can one get extra move.
Aye, the trees and bushes are handy
Wonder what the point of the rocks is though!
2 waves... send the first group of 4 in with terrain protection. They will take the brunt of the initial range attack well. Second wave goes in for the hand to hand, as the wounded first wave sneaks into the back field to mop up any range units.
If no ranged units... lol put me down for the mosh pit style as well. Not a big fan of not fighting at all and researching. If I can not capture your women and enslave your children... well then I can not sleep good at night.
Haha, i like that tactic tbh. Will try it out soon enough.
Yeah I've noticed that you do a lot of battles,so I didn't fight a lot and I've concentrated on production, but I think that I'll fight more seriously in the next tower
lol well we actually are good for each other styles. You are real good at timing your production so I can not get anything good. I am like your alarm clock that makes you log in like clock work. Be just a minute late and it is mine lol
You make me run no more then 5 military buildings. I have to do that silly research and production buildings or I will fall to far behind.
heheh well I don't sleep a lot and I try to make that my production ends at the time when I can be online.
And btw I think that we live on different continents
This, and of course also depends on the units that enemy has.
I hate the balista things.
I need to find a good way of getting to and killing them before my lads suffer too much damage. As it is the fight is basically over by the time i reach them as all of my guys will either be dead or 1 attack away from it.
I personally use horsies.
They seem pretty weak against the regular spearmen though from what i've seen...
How do they do against the iron age guys?
Hmm I don't really think that horses are useful because they take to much dmg ,maybe only against range units because they don't strike back and their movement range is good.
I just dominated 8 horsies with 5 spearmen... Camped in the trees and it was over in only a few moves once they reached me.
Though as you say they are better against long range units then spearmen if only because they are able to get to them much much faster.
I will never ever use a horse in a battle, in fact I'll never even build their training facilities.
Haha, good strong opinion there
I'm sticking to spearmen and warriors atm.
I actually quit the exclusive preview of FoE at a time when the enemy attacked your nearest unit. At that stage, slingers were all the go in the bronze age as they'd go entire battles without getting touched and just annihilate the enemy spears and warriors. I assumed that would still be the case and built two slinger ranges, but I've now realised that slingers suck to a much greater degree now and replaced my second slinger range with a second spearfighter barracks.
