What's going on with new designs on FoE? Verging towards the bizarre now...

DeletedUser15216

I recently completed construction of the Combat Drone Base/Factory in Tomorrow. The FoE military bases used to be pretty cool and well drawn/designed...from ancient times up, you could see the equipment being manufactured, banners, perimeter security fences, anti-aircraft guns / CIWS, etc. My new drone base however....appears to be the headquarters of a religious cult of some sort. One section has big crosses around it, the other side has a billboard with a big maniacal face on it. ??????????????? Little too much creative, pseudo-political message, license from the FoE designers perhaps??

Just curious if anyone else noticed it and what the intent / meaning is supposed to be.

And you just noticed that?? LOL Buildings started getting weird in the Industrial, eased up a bit until the Contemporary Age where they veer to weird again. Then they go totally gaga with pastels and bubbles during the last 3 ages. The artist must be fried on acid. ;-)

It's kinda simple really. Up until Tomorrow Era, the developers had a lot of real-world inspiration to draw from. As the game hit the end of what's currently in the real world, they had the opportunity to start getting a bit less 'real' and a lot more 'creative' with the building designs. Always remember that art is by and large subjective, so what you think looks odd may look amazing to someone else and vice-versa.
