Will Inno ever fix the Attrition problem?

As a veteran player of over 10 years, this "random" attrition set-up they have, simply blows. Typically I get to 80 attrition per day and the number of fights I get for that 80 attrition varies, even though at a 20% sector, I should end up near 400 fights. Probably 6 out of 7 days, I'm at least 50 to 100 fights short of that 400 mark. Now, that's no big deal, if it's just lost fights, but that's also 50 to 100 lost rewards potential, which is why I believe Inno purposely makes sure you don't get all the fights in, so you don't get all the rewards you should be entitled to. Is anyone else having this same type of problem and honestly, tired of wasting your time clicking a key to get not what you should be getting?

If you're in the top guild, you don't need to do any fights to get the level 2 castle every season for free. These people get the castle and then get millions of FP every season while the rest of us are playing catchup on the castle frags. That's a bunch of crap.

Then the guild that literally pays to win by diming their camps because you're losing out on thousands of VP/hr by waiting 2+ hours for the camps to be built.

Inno don't care about you and your "sometimes 16% attrition vs sometimes 28% attrition". People have been complaining about attrition since it came out, honestly they should just have it as a solid 0.20 point of attrition for every fight so that people stops complaining and it's "fair" for everyone.

They won't that is their cash cow , you need to get stronger but it will come. View attachment 23071
Ok, I've been playing 10 years, without spending money, getting almost all of the specialty buildings to max and having almost all my GBs at level 150, there is no chance of getting 6K fights in 2 days. I don't know what you're doing, but unless I'm missing something extremely important, I max out at 80 attrition and get about 375 fights per average on that 80 attrition.

First, I actually command Inno for the change, making so that 1 individual can't take the whole board by him/her self, like the old days. Just dime buildings, take sector, wash, rinse, repeat. Now, there is basically a cap....you're only as good as your GbG att/def

I am in a guild with only 17 people in it. We don't buy our way in , in fact we don't even dime that many towers.

Get stronger is the only answer , it takes a year or two but it is possible 1780705794666.png

And erase the 100s of thousands of dollars spent by players to get to that level ? This isn't the crayon class , it is a game. No presence awards are given here.

Inno is not shorting you on fights - if anything, they would want you to fight more. More time in game = a greater chance for you to spend.

For what it's worth, I actually wrote a simulation for this exact situation! The average is going to be 400, yes, but you won't be below that point "6 out of 7 days" unless your enemy guild is placing traps (which is possible). I highly recommend you actually track your data each day, and you should find that it approaches a normal distribution (something like below).

I think the biggest problem is unlimited attrition. The reason some take so many fights is many times because they can do unlimited fights and have a fast computer. We are now back to competing against guildmates for fights again. I can do unlimited attrition but i can't compete, being on mobile. I am quite slow compared to the fast players though I'm going as fast as the game loads.

When they got rid of unlimited last time, all the sudden guilds needed even us slow players. Now we really aren't needed anymore. I'm actually glad not to be needed cause i have grown to dislike gbg but prefer to be in a top guild for QI. However, i do believe that gbg should be a guild working together and it's nice to be needed.

There's only a set number of fights to be had so I'm not sure if inno cares who gets them. When the fights are spaced too far apart, i normally leave especially when they are being taken so fast i only get 3 or4 fights per tile.

That said, if one can get to unlimited attrition, it no longer matters how many fights one gets per attrition. When doing trial one, i could care less if it has support. I don't know if it's possible for new players. But I've played lots of years since back when hoods were made up of all ages, gvg was active, no Taverns, and we were happy to get SoK and WWs in our main city. At any rate. I'm f2p and now can do unlimited attrition. So it's something to shoot for.

No that is not fair. People have cars and some don't and have to walk. Does everyone get a free car after everyone else bought theirs?

There was a player who suggested that being able to diamond rush the unlock timer on zones adjacent to guild occupied zones would insure that no players would be porched and give everyone the opportunity compete. I always thought it was an excellent idea! :D

That would change GBG into a pure spendfest and the interest would drop like a rock if they did that.

It's literally pay to win, it's not fair. You should be angry that people are using an unfair advantage.

Also the 2-3 hour wait is ridiculously long anyway, by the time the sector unlocks the max camp had what 30 minutes of effect ? Really dumb that forces players to spend dimes.

Unlimited fighting is a long term goal. They just stretch everything out by fragmenting crap and putting extra steps in to get the same thing. They have zero imagination.

Definitely missing something extremely important.

I played a copycat version of GBG by a different company, that had no timer.

It was so much harder to defend without that hard-coded block, because the top Guild had the resources to beach everyone else and was on much more frequently than everyone else. Every time I logged on the top Guild that spent the most had captured everything we or any other Guild had worked on. And from memory there were probably double the amount of Guilds for them to beach than we have here, across a map many times larger than Inno uses.

If Inno did the same thing, you wouldn’t have it any easier to defend your sectors. You’d just be increasing your requirements to stay online, and by extension increasing the requirements for raising your city stats, having a fast internet connection and a large participant pool in your Guild

The only way you’re going to fix a power discrepancy is by finding something that equalises. But you’ll probably never find one that works (longterm) due to the very nature of a Free-to-Play game. Every time you fix the problem the next increase in a players city stats unfixes it, and without change over time you’re never going to retain player attention. Which naturally requires some degree of powercreep which creates gaps between Guild power that gets wider the longer a game exists

You could take some inspiration from now-retired-GvG : the more you hold the harder/more expensive it should be to take more. Be that through # of encounters, attrition penalty (probably doesn't work as it stands because there's some who can go indefinitely), early/late starts for those in position to need to catch up/that need to be caught, or something else I'm not thinking of.

It wouldn't change who wins (because if the dominant guild gets pushed back because of the penalty, they lose the penalty and can reassert themselves), but possibly could limit "total domination" situations.
