WINTER 2017 Feedback

DeletedUser29032

The event continues for an additional 5 hours after the daily special expires - anyone know if there will be an additional building put up for those last hours?

Don't get me wrong, I hope you complete and are happy with your set.

Just curious, what;s your trade off point? How many SoK would you need to win to be happier to hace won that many SoK then the set.

I won 7 SoK (and HoF) in my startup city. I think I'm a little ahead of your Set given space considerations. And flexibiluty of placement. Aand movement. And more FPs. I know I'm happy. And a year from now, I'll still be happy with the SoKs.

Actually above and beyond happy. Getting a 2x Payout SoK had me barking. Hitting show 2x revealing SoK + Shufle, more barking, I was 'Waising the Woof'!. Mrs. 'Gona asked me if the beloved snarling DaWgs of Montlake were playing.

Pardon delay in reply been a busy week or so. Happy New Year.

So for context I did get the whole set with Stars to spare and added 1 SOK a couple days later (I've never had any luck with the shows or doubles but oh well).

Personally for me its not simply a trade off of SOK vs everything else. I don't pay for goods and now that I'm future era I want to produce as many of those free as I can because it makes trading for stuff very easy (and many people will pay handsomely for arc goods). So for me, 5 goods is about equivalent to 1 FP (or slightly better).

While SOKs do allow flexibility in placement, my city is designed to have rows of 2,2,3,3,7,5,4,6,5 wide buildings. This simply slot into th 6-wide row and will set there forever more.

While I did score some SoKs and various other useful stuff, this Winter Event was really very blah. The set pieces were not worth bothering with, in my opinion, which meant that every other day there was no reason to even think about opening presents. I think the last 2 daily "specials" really say it all about this event, the Shrine of Inspiration (which is less than inspirational) and Santa's Workshop, which is too big for what it will produce. I don't know if Inno is listening, but I generally won't be going after any event buildings that depend on being part of a set to be worthwhile. Other special/event buildings can be very useful, but the space and immobility of the set pieces, along with their susceptibility to plundering, make them a non-starter in my book.

I am still most annoyed that a full set doesn't make a rectangle!!

with out a doubt inno/foes worst performance yet for a one time great event. when the hell will you guys just leave things alone. so tired of wasting effort for crap. I never won not a single featured prize, whats even more pitiful is your ideals on making the final prizes a hodge podge of buildings no one can win, infact i gave up on your event i finished the quests because it helped pass the time but if you check your records i ended the event not spending a star for the last week, because the prizes arent worth a squat. is it a freaking european thing to always mess up something that was never broke and didnt need have the need for changes. and on that note your daily quest suck as well.
your changes to the game havent been all that fun and have made me spend even less time playing, keep it up and you will start to lose peoples intrest. it is a sad day when i see new players rave about how good the event was, which to them it was but to those of us that have played a long time, and have seen what inno has done to these events, i can only shake my head , and think poor fools dont even know how good the event used to be.
whats next on your event list, the person who discovered fleas. probably be 3 events before valentines day .you could have given a simple upgrade to the confectionary like the cider mill instead i have 2 worthless buildings that will have to be purged from my inventory thanks inno for another lame event and worthless prizes. keep up the crappy work

Summation. The juty is out on the 9 piece Set. A lot of people didn;t even try, a lot of people tried and failed, a lot of people who got it, well, we'll have to see the feedback on that in a few months.

Stupid ass BBAOD is still bouncing. Folk hate shuffle. Ty[ocal ampount of kvetching about when which Presents were offered.

Otherwise the same as last year with the noted exception of HoF being offered twice. Good job there, INNO.

Noteworthy was this (please don't argue it here!) debate:

https://forum.us.forgeofempires.com/index.php?threads/winters-sok.20891/

Much yelling screaming arm waving tempers lost with absolutly nothing decided. A good time was had by all.

Personally, didn't even try for the set. Didn't bother finishing the questline, stopped after the second SoK was offered.

Meh results for my main city, 2 SoK, 1 HoF.

Home run in startup, 7 SoK and HoF.

Happy with the results, I giess. Wondering what improvements, if that is the right word. INNO tries next year.

I ended up getting incredibly lucky somehow on my main world. 6 SoKs and 1 HoF. I only used stars 3 days out of the whole event which made it rather boring and I stopped the quests as soon as required advancement reared it's ugly head yet somehow came out with more SoKs than ever before with 0 diamonds.

I know winter isn't the most popular event but I hope they don't change it. I like that is is different from Summer and you have the ability to save for what you want. This set though, ugh. I think I'm over sets in general but this one was particularly bad and during the worst event to try to win sets.

You may find a combo that's better than an SoK, better than 6 even, but if you miss 1 of those buildings you get 0 if I miss one SoK I still have 5 SoK's... Also sets have really just become plunder porn at this point and I really do not agree with how it is allowed. Plundering is fine, part of the game, but no one plundering a palace should get all the rewards for the palace. The player is getting those rewards because of the buildings they put next to it, the plunderer did not put those buildings next to it and therefor should only be granted the rewards for the single building on it's own, not what it gets because of what it's next to. All boosts 2-4 (5) (6) (whatever) should be left for the player.

I like that suggestion with the sets, Manda. I think sets are nice if you park in an era. But updating the sets is just ... impossible without parking for a long time in an era and getting all the renovation kits.

The only thing worse was Forge Bowl - more like Bowl of garbage - Other than the Observatory prints - everything else can be scored on the GE, incidents and Daily challenges - very disappointed - took what could have been a good event and turned it into another Inno diamond grab

Weird I couldn't possibly disagree more. The quests were by far the easiest I've ever experienced, and the reward far better. the Level 7 PoH which anyone could get for zero diamonds quite easily is the best building in the game I believe. We must have drastically different goals for our cities though I suppose.

I agree with Robin-hood. I acquired two buildings total. It would fantastic to get an expansion square with some future event. I have more buildings in inventory and not much chance of ever getting them in my city.

I doubt that will ever happen, but I agree it would be nice.
