Q: If I advance to a new age during a round, will it work as in GE, i.e. my enemies and rewards will be of my previous age? [apologies if this has been asked and answered -- I scanned through pages of this discussion without finding it]

It only shows up for units that are not selected for army duty. So I am now keeping my city defenders "unselected" unless I need them in an army to attack (where the watchfires have no effect).
