BP credit for egg drops?

Is dropping an egg treated the same as a polivating event with regard to BPs? Do I get 'credit' for such drops when considering my BP awards?

I don't know about "credit," but when you hide an egg, you have a small chance to find a BP, just like when you motivate, polish, or plunder.

Is it the same benefit as motivating or polishing a building from that same age, or is it of less value to you wrt BPs?
