I notice that the goods requirements for more advanced ages are a lot higher. For example, in the Industrial Age (where you get Whale Oil factories) you need 110 Whale Oil for all your research needs. However, later, in the modern era, you need 430 Whale Oil--a lot more--just for one research item: Food Processing.
In general, the goods requirements for doing research in the later ages is a lot higher than the earlier ones.
However, the rate of production seems to be the same. You are making Iron, you get 5 units every 4 hours. You make Whale Oil, you produce it at the same rate. So, the rate of production per tile does not change, but the research requirements increase dramatically.
Does this mean that progression through the ages becomes much much tougher as you get higher, or are there ways that players have in higher ages to multiply their good production easily?
