Halloween Event 2022 Feedback

just in time for Thanksgiving, lol!!!
It's late for Halloween but it's still a comfortable gap between fall event and winter event. If they had started this earlier we'd be waiting a really long time before Winter event started.

I like the new feature that awards extra fps for older avatars given out that you already have. Won't affect us on Dilmun for a while but will be cool when it does. Hopefully this means we'll see all the old avatars make a return, there were some cool ones back in the day.

The only time I buy diamonds - since I don't get 200%/300% etc. offers - is with event currency. There is absolutely no way I'm paying $15 for the bonus prizes and buying separate event currency without diamonds. This really sucks.

I've cut way back on my spending (from avg of $40/wk to $80 in the past three-ish months) but have been planning for the past week to spend $200 today to push my castle to L16, get a bit of event currency, have diamonds in stock.

I would be at 7 years in Jan, but I think I'm actually...done.

This was a bad premium prize line to do A/B testing for cash vs diamonds (although I guess you can see what people do with a bad premium prize line). Not much on this prize line is desirable, especially not at the price.

@Kaidi yes it appears that way.

In beta, they gave us 2 orbs (spheres) in our inventory for starters. 1 was the educational one (tutorial), the 2nd was to be used when the user needed it. We could "educate" ourselves anytime we wanted to, and still had 1 left.

Essentially the same thing they've done here in the live event. They only give you one in your inventory to use immediately (tutorial), but then when you do, it illuminates the entire map for you (as advertised), and the first square has....

voila - an orb (sphere). So that goes into your inventory, and it's essentially the same thing - you get 2.

Got all the main quests done. That was not so hard but the real surprise was getting all 8 Dolls and doing those quests to score the Tarot Lady avatar, which will be a very rare one since not many people get all the Dolls. Rotating the Daily saw RENO's come up and they have come along okay but not as strong as Dailys in Football, Soccer and Fellowship.

I want to re-suggest that "temporary" buildings (the moniker given to buildings that deliver an initial and limited prize that actually expires, then delivers a weak value ongoing residual - like happiness) in the premium line don't create a strong enough value proposition for hard diamond purchases, or ongoing value for me, or other users I've talked to.

Once again, I will suggest that a better strategy here for you, Inno, is to offer that type of building but, through some additional venue, allow it to be recharged with it's initial value again by using a RECHARGE kit for it.

Users can obtain a recharge kit via the normal ways we obtain things: purchase them outright for diamonds, win them (or their fragments, since that's an increasingly visible way many items seem to be going these days in the game) in the Daily Challenge, GE, or GbG, or, incidents, or, or, or....

I uncovered a pumpkin today in order to get the daily calendar sticker past it, but did not collect the pumpkin, as it is an undesirable daily special today.
If I wait to collect it when there is a good daily special, will I have a chance to get that daily special, or will today's daily special stay associated with that specific pumpkin, as I uncovered it today?

Basically, they want me to pay $15 for what I would have effectively paid $8.28 for. And for event currency, if you get a diamond/currency package, you can buy a few more as you need them on whatever day or days has the prize that you want. What they're doing by separating this...it's basically like, going to Las Vegas for a week, having to buy all the chips you think you're going to use on your first day there, and if you don't use them by the time you leave, the casino gets to keep them.

Candles are busted, at least on Android. They seem to work on the leftmost one or maybe two columns, but certainly not on all visible (light) clouds. Makes it very difficult to play at all. I will collect quests and wait for a fix I guess.

In the attached example, the two left cloud columns work. Not the right two.

If the daily special changes, and you haven't collected the pumpkin, when you do, it will use the day's current daily special as part of the probability grouping. In other words, it changes quietly on the board if it's NOT collected by the user.

Once collected, however, it locks the value of the current DS and the other prizes, for the actual decision of what you'll get.

Essentially - clicking the pumpkin evaluates and gives you the prize in real time, using whatever the day's daily special happens to be as part of the group of prizes you can win. It doesn't go into your inventory as a pumpkin. what's "inside" the pumpkin resolves, and that goes into your inventory as a prize.

good to know. that definitely raises the probability that I will be able to only collect pumpkins on good daily special days, while still completing the calendar. The 5 jokers, along with the ability to switch out DS's helps too.
