Where are the cars & trucks? I see none in my city. If they have been eliminated let me know. Without them why have roads?

You've turned off animations in the settings tab. If your own mobile, there will be more detailed animation settings in its own separate tab. Where as on the computer, the animations checkbox is located at the very top when you open up the settings cog.
