Does Forge of empires shut down certain parts of the game over the Christmas period ? Or do things continue right through ?

i'm thinking GE / GVG etc & other aspects... Does anyone know

The entire game shuts down for the week between Christmas and New Years. Inno calls it their 'Annual Week of Rest.' Like it or not, only friends and family for a week, no escaping to your city.

The ridiculousness of this question is off the charts.

GE will shut down the Monday before Xmas. GBG on Tuesday. During Xmas you can find free diamonds in incidents, so it is important not to miss those.

Ignore the above comments. Forge of Empires continues as usual every day of the year. GE and GBG continue with their regular cycles and GvG continues uninterrupted. (And there is always a very small chance of finding a few Diamonds in Incidents year-round.)
