feedback for Winter event 2023

I have to say that I really enjoyed that this event started on a Friday. For many of us, including me, Friday is a relatively relaxed day at work (or school), and it was easier and more pleasant for me to work through the initial quests than it is when events start on a Monday through Thursday. And those of us that need it will have the weekend to work through the remaining initial quests.

Inno, more Friday event starts, please.
You were playing foe while at work on Friday? Where can I get an hiring application?

I would mention that if you try to save the Elves' Workshop chances, they stop adding on. Plus when you fill it up and buy it, any remaining chances vanish. So saving more than you can use in that set, is a waste of effort.

Why does Inno make the keys difficult. Do it fair Inno! Seriously the fact Inno constantly eff up the percentages in Events is a major reason players refuse to spend money. It may be true aggravation and being annoyed can be a positive carrot, but Inno pushes in way to far.
As I wrote many times, If Inno was a casino, all it's bosses would already be in jail for breaking the laws on cheating the percentages so often. They constantly manipulate the chances in Events. It sucks Inno! Try being fair and actually honest instead. It might surprise you!!!

I am not a fan of the key versus shuffle but I went to take a look at the calendar rewards. Santa's Spectacular Showtime is a nice building, that is obvious.
Overall, for feedback, here is what I think

10 fragments of feedback points for.... *
10 fragments of feedback points for.... *

Looking at the above. I would say nobody understands what my feedback points are. I figured I would speak in Inno Code, just like I have to read this

santa spectacular winter won....JPG

Here is the Inno decode book

Winter Won...derland Pyramid selection kit
Winter Won...derland Pyramid Silver selection kit
Winter Won...derland Pyramid Gold selection kit
Winter Won...der Retreat selection kit

That image is blown up about 10X, I am pretty sure that blue smudge means the Silver selection kit, thanks for the Nancy Drew Murder Mystery, case solved.

So, here is the CD decode book for my feedback

feedback points for....whoops shuffle, go to next set of presents

feedback points for....no key available today

feedback points for....key today, spend 100 stars and WHOOPS, shuffle again, but you get 10 stars back, so be happy because most of the buildings you can win are loaded with unhappy. :( Oh, no key on the next one.

feedback points for....basically all attack buildings, only the Santa Shop (red D) and Gold League - Sweet Gingerbread Cottage (blue D) give any defense, but they don't have any DIRECT negative happiness. They have INDIRECT negative happiness, they cost diamonds. Now they should cost diamonds, they always do and it could be argued getting the L2 nutcrackers gives more red D, point acknowledged and accepted, oh, after 100 fragments if you get the Choco gold upgrade (many say you should, I was 20 short in beta) so you need to wait which is fine, it is how the game is played today.
Note: Winter Retreat bldgs do have some defense, see pg 86 of the Winter Event users manual and Appendix C,D

feedback points for....another daily special I don't need, basically all fillers

As much as I don't like avatars for any prizes, I could actually see one of the Scrooge from this event.

So, this news is hot off the press via the Wonderland Times

Capy's Spa has reported 3rd quarter earnings are down by 50% and have filed a lawsuit against the Snow Globe Advertising Agency for misrepresentation. The case involves a flyer sent out for the holidays. Capy's claims a spelling error has caused the earning drop. Snow Globe claims Capy's approved the proof before the flyers were made. It all centers around the slogan
"Want to spice up your holiday season, come to Crapys Winter Holiday Spa, flush all your troubles away"
Snow globe also claims that missing an apostrophe can not damage a business.
Looks like there is a war brewing in the Wonderland Retreat business.

Even Pericles isn't backing Inno on this one , it's outright theft.
Couldn't agree more seems like every new feature in INNO from dumbing down the overly long, boring and repetitive events to screwing up GBG so badly that it has become a chore and zero fun! I used to spend money on INNO but unless and until I see the double diamond sale or rewards become worth the cost my bank is closed!

It's a month long Event dude. I'll give it more than 36 hours before coming to any conclusions. Even having said this, in my experience the Calendar has been a feature that was achievable only with the spending of diamonds. I don't know why anyone would expect this one to be any different.

I wasn't specifically referring to the calendar but the entire event! And players keep hoping INNO will eventually do something right only to be given another disappointment! I don't need 30 days or even 36 hours to know this is a horrible event! That comes from experience with INNO!

I highly recommend you track the calendar keys, compare notes, and build up a large sample size. I had a stretch on Beta where I only saw 1 key in 10 boards! But do you want to know something? I ended up seeing 55 keys after 100 boards. With such tiny, baby samples, you can't just immediately throw up your arms and start whining,

Finished the rush quests, they were pretty easy. But it does seem like I have a very small amount of stars. I've gotten 10 from an incident.

Daily quests are worth 30 stars - that's where you'll be getting the majority of your stars, along with the daily bonus of 20. It's not really an event where you can get too far ahead by rushing it.

I really don't think Inno is hurting. I think the way they do events must bring in lots of money. Just looking at the league results makes me think people are paying lots on events.

I do find it discouraging though that it doesn't seem to take that long before things lose their value. I use diamonds I've saved on events, normally maybe 2000 or so, but wonder if it's even worth spending any on events as each event comes out with great buildings and ones city only holds so much.

Im glad this event isn't demanding. I'm busy in real life right now. I tried out opening presents in my diamond world. I only used 130 stars i believe. I found the candles popping up after opening a present annoying. Kind of takes any fun there was opening presents away.

So apparently the switched DS is not random. Every time that I have switched, I have gotten the same DS.

Today I switched from the previous age goods to Nutcracker Guardhouse in both worlds.

That got me last year , look BEFORE it scrambles , do you see a key ? No , don't do the board wait until the next day.

Inno put the START BUTTON (board initial present shuffle execution...) conveniently over 2 present items, which blocks them out completely. I think 1 is a key, but can't be sure. It's maddening the way they make dialog boxes modal and cover up items in events (witness the popdrop mini-game mechanic , which conveniently covers the game board so you can't determine if you want to play on for XX more event currency....), as well as bad controls placement. If it's done on purpose, or if by accident (and approved by dev team leads) - either way - it's really bad software engineering practices.

EDIT: Upon subsequent comparison of the BLUE SECTION with another FoE Player @Pericles the Lion on a DIFFERENT CLIENT PLATFORM (browser), we think this is a bug, not a feature.

No, it is definitely random. On the main world, it was switched 125 next ages goods, whilst on my other two worlds it was swapped to a Governor's Villa Selection Kit and 250 Next Era Guild Goods respectively. You have just had a little bit of luck fancy you today.
