Free gift chest in Diamond area

In our guild, some don’t have it on any device, some have one free gift they collect from the chest (no choice), some have two free gifts to choose from the chest, some have a slot machine. Every one of those options have occurred on an iPhone (as well as other devices), so we know it’s not device specific. Can someone explain the reasoning behind all these various configurations.

Only on mobile, not on PC, I have to log in on mobile at least once a day now. First day I heard it was an A/B test but by the sound of it it's an A/B/C/D test. Maybe one of the variants will go live at any time, maybe not.
