[Question] happiness modifier points

I'm starting to understand haw points in combat are calculated(PvP) but what i don't know what are happiness modifier points and is there a way to gain more (or loos less) any help will be appreciated

If your city is enthusiastic (you have 140% happiness, basically 1.4 for every population point) then you get +20% on battle points. If your city is happy, you get the standard amount of battle points with no bonus from happiness. If your city is angry, you get -50% on battle points.
