I cannot find Mars Ore

I am in SAM. I understood that fighting my way through the SAM campaign map would gain me Mars Ore. I finished the first map and am now on the second and have yet to find where I can obtain Mars Ore. What am I doing wrong? This is beginning to irritate me.

Once you complete a province with a rock, click on it. Then you send out the exploration. When it is done, you will be given the option to attack or negotiate for the ore. Then rinse and repeat starting with exploration.

One small point you have to click on the rock! If you click only near the rock the game takes you to the original Map area, not Mars Ore. It was confusing to me at first what was going on.
