A dog person I was and that was that.
But what showed up was a huge orange cat.
He bellowed real loud for all hear,
It's bitter cold. I'll be a dear.
I told him firmly, just for the eve.
In the morning you really must leave.
A year has passed and now he is fat.
I really love my kitty cat.

It's Shake and bake and I helped, he asked me to say.
I looked at him strangely and said, No way!
He said my accent was charming and cute.
So, I gave in with a wink to boot.
Two years go by and we say I do,
and seventeen later, he still says I love you.
Best of all I love him too.

Diamonds, diamonds
Where have you gone?
I have searched for you daily
Since I have spawned.
I love your sparkle,
when you give me more land;
How I wish I had
some more cash in my hand.

Trout fishing Taney is a delight.
Waiting for the big one to give you a fight.
Fishing line tightens, and she is a fighter.
After a struggle I finally caught her.
Onto the grill at the campsite,
So flaky and tender, It was love at first bite.

Ode to a plunderer:

I return home from work to retire for the night
I open Forge of Empires, what a dreadful fright!
My Forge Points have been stolen, what a shameful sight
Yes, I’ve been plundered.

Those Terrace Farm points had been thought of all day
Now a lightning bolt hovers like death’s evil ray
I’m too furious to know whatever to say
Yes, I’ve been plundered.

Instead of a city my sight turns to red
As I curse his ancestry and wish he were dead
May his ISP be cursed and turned into lead
Yes, I’ve been plundered.

I’ve been pilfered, deprived, with no reason or rhyme
I’ve been violated again, today’s the fourth time
What shall I do about this dastardly crime?
Yes, I’ve been plundered.

I could scream in anger and vent to the sky
I could hang my head, break down, and yes even cry
Perhaps settle for an exasperated sigh
Yes, I’ve been plundered

These depths of despair to resolve now give way
I will not just meekly accept this harsh play
Revenge is just a mouse click away
Yes, I’ve been plundered

But it’s alright now, his comeuppance is due
An orange button beckons, justice shall be true
Quake in terror my friend, I’m coming for you
Yes, you’ll be plundered.

Eight of my finest I gather with haste
To his city gates now they quickly have raced
His cowardly blood shall be so sweet to taste
Yes, he’ll be plundered.

His defensive army is a challenge indeed
I lose 5 of 8 but at last I succeed
His productions before me laid bare for my greed
Yes, here comes the plunder

His Maharaja’s Palace is what I will steal
A lightning bolt of my own I leave as my seal
May my despair of before now be what he’ll feel
Yes, he’s been plundered.

Not done am I, I have more chaos to see
I scour our neighborhood for his guildmates; what luck, three!
Productions of all now belonging to me
Yes, they’ve been plundered

I’ll be back tomorrow to unleash my wrath once more
My nemesis will hear my battlecry roar
Now he knows what else is in store
Yes, more plunder

A fairy tale not, a purpose greater still
For these words you read, may they send you a chill
For all who think to plunder my till
You’ll be plundered

Fair reader, fear not, I will never strike first
Just be peaceful, do not ever make me coerced
But if you try me, prepare for the worst
You will be plundered

How is this love? A fair question to ask
I love to take the plunderer to task
In the glow of his plundered points I will bask
The joy of plunder

'Tis a noble deed to strike back at the thief
I love to repay him all of this grief
To crash his ship of pride on a cold coral reef
The justice of plunder

But I must not become the monster I fight
To prey on the weak, ignoring his plight
Justice is swift, but must always be right
The danger of plunder

So let us love peace, and nary make war
Let this bitter feud pass into fable and lore
Let us agree to plunder no more
The end of plunder

Un-Valentine Poem

Roses are Red,
and Violets are Blue.
Love Stinks!
And so do you, too!

Roses are Red, Violets are blue,
My love, why have you forsaken me, why have you become untrue?
The Sun rises and sets, I wait , hoping, praying, this is a bad dream, your anger will dissipate, my sweetman will reappear,
Holidays pass, time marches on, I cling to memories of magical moments, I remember the look of love in your eyes,
Nothing makes sense, my heart knows there must be another, I wait for anger, my eye to wander to someone new,
Life says time heals all wounds, you say, move on, take off my ring, Sweetman, don't you see? What we could have,
A life of love, a life not alone, together, laughing, playing, arguing yes, but who doesnt, but a team, a family, you and me..
I wish whatever internal demons you have, would leave you alone, I dont believe the mean you give comes from my sweetmans soul, no the mean you gives comes from childhood trauma that lingers on, critical , mean that you unload on others to get free,
but sweetman you push love away, it will happen again and again, until you forgive, embrace that boy, everyday give only love, then
you will truly be free...
Roses are Red, Violet are blue,
and know I will always love you-East Nagach

The Month of Love,
Snow-white like a dove.
A few short weeks to be near
The person I hold most dear

Because soon the calendar turns
To warmer concerns
Like bikinis, baseball, and beer!

Sorry to break the mood of Love but a bit of clarification is needed :

If you copy from someone else please give credit where credit is due.

Winners will be chosen at random, and contacted on the forum messenger once prizes have been awarded.

Send us your love.

So does that mean we can just post a poem of another author? Such as

AH, how sweet it is to love!
Ah, how gay is young Desire!
And what pleasing pains we prove
When we first approach Love's fire!
Pains of love be sweeter far
Than all other pleasures are.

Sighs which are from lovers blown
Do but gently heave the heart:
Ev'n the tears they shed alone
Cure, like trickling balm, their smart:
Lovers, when they lose their breath,
Bleed away in easy death.
-John Dryden

Would that be acceptable -if it is wont be wasting time doing original ones

Also as a regular in contests I prefer the old method of announcing the winners on the forum- its more transparent and we can acknowledge the winners on here, instead of the mundane winners have been notified via PM .

Its not like we can kidnap them and demand they hand over 1k diamonds or is there something more sinister at work...

My hair is red
My eyes are blue
You gave me a broken heart
But I still love you.

So this is a poem I wrote on Veteran's Day.

He lied about his age to enter the military.

He fought for our country.

He survived the war.

He never talked about what he experienced.

He only talked of the good times.

He was the one grandpa I knew and loved.

Walstrand

EDIT: This is a true poem.

I loved you...
I loved you, and I probably still do,
And for a while the feeling may remain...
But let my love no longer trouble you,
I do not wish to cause you any pain.
I loved you; and the hopelessness I knew,
The jealousy, the shyness - though in vain -
Made up a love so tender and so true
As may God grant you to be loved again.
Alexander Pushkin

Love and Friendship

Love is like the wild rose-briar,
Friendship like the holly-tree
The holly is dark when the rose-briar blooms
But which will bloom most constantly?

The wild-rose briar is sweet in the spring,
Its summer blossoms scent the air;
Yet wait till winter comes again
And who will call the wild-briar fair?

Then scorn the silly rose-wreath now
And deck thee with the holly's sheen,
That when December blights thy brow
He may still leave thy garland green.
Emily Bronte

To You

I love you as a sheriff searches for a walnut
That will solve a murder case unsolved for years
Because the murderer left it in the snow beside a window
Through which he saw her head, connecting with
Her shoulders by a neck, and laid a red
Roof in her heart. For this we live a thousand years;
For this we love, and we live because we love, we are not
Inside a bottle, thank goodness! I love you as a
Kid searches for a goat; I am crazier than shirttails
In the wind, when you’re near, a wind that blows from
The big blue sea, so shiny so deep and so unlike us;
I think I am bicycling across an Africa of green and white fields
Always, to be near you, even in my heart
When I’m awake, which swims, and also I believe that you
Are trustworthy as the sidewalk which leads me to
The place where I again think of you, a new
Harmony of thoughts! I love you as the sunlight leads the prow
Of a ship which sails
From Hartford to Miami, and I love you
Best at dawn, when even before I am awake the sun
Receives me in the questions which you always pose.

Not romantic, but still the one I feel the most:

It's all I can do to keep from asking, "How did you get so tall?"
You're clever and funny and kind, I see, I should have no complaints at all.
Time will be time, and life will be life, and everything's gone as it should,
So I'll keep to myself that I grieve every day for the you who once was so small.
