[Question] Moving up an age doing GE

I moved up to progressive during the week so decided to take advantage of GE battles while I had a bit of an advantage, I also had a few other Progressive units to use. I was surprised when the unattached Progressive champions were showing up on the map as Industrial ones. They were shown in the Army selection as Progressive but on the battlefield they were Industrial. The difference is really obvious so unlike other times, I am not just looking at the figure. In fact, during the battle, the running guide shows them as progressive.

Is this a bug? Or does this happen anytime you play a later age champion in GE lower competition.

This issue did not come up in GBG, I am able to use the Progressive Champions come out as Progressive.
