Question on population requirements

So I'm still pretty new, did a search on this and couldn't find a good answer. If you build a resource building with population requirements and then tear down the residential buldings you used to attain the population requirement, will your population go into negatives? I wandered if it was possible to tear them down after building the resource building and then rebuild them to satisfy the population requirement for the next building. Thanks!

You can not get rid of residential buildings if they would drop your population negative.
