Strike Team Center Scandal

DeletedUser26154

Just not a good idea if you want other units from traz

ITown is right.

I'm in Contemporary Era.
2/3rds of my military buildings are Strike Team Centers.
Meaning, on average, 66% of my Alcatraz-produced troops will be Light Units.
I've considered this already and took it into account.
I have plenty of Rogues [Over 180 at this time] and other unattached units.
I have an Assault Tank Factory, an Air Defense Factory, 4 Rogue Hideouts, three Champions Retreats.
And 18 Strike Team Centers

For the most part, my Alcatraz will produce low-value units.
On the other hand, my combat losses, while already low, will be much lower due to stronger offense.
When Special Events call for some land to build upon, I'll remove a few STCs then put them back when I'm done.

I can't do this forever, but for now I'll camp Contemporary Era...
My New Progressive Era...
Level Great Buildings, Own G.E., and make lots of Tower Points.
I already produced all the goods I'll need until I'm into Tomorrow Era.
None of it from plunder.

Because I'll never steal from your city.

How about 52 of em?

What is the maximum attack bonus?

DeletedUser13838

Why no love for helicopters? 4% attack, first to get, rather have unattached helicopter than strike team.
Suppose it depends but strike teams are great to use as cannon fodder in GE. In AF I usually cleared level 1 entirely with them. Not so much in OF though.

I chose the STCs because they are smaller, use any kind of road, and I don't use Helicopters either.

I gave Stallion119's suggestion some thought.
I used 8 Contemporary Era Helicopters on several Tomorrow Era continent map sectors.

8 choppers.png

It was beautiful, fast and glorious.
28 movement so they travel from one end of the map to striking range in one turn.
As @stallion119 mentioned, they usually go first, because they are Fast Units.
With that kind of Attack Bonus, it's very effective first-strike capability.
I could usually destroy at least 3, maybe 4 enemy units before they can react, unless they have fast units, too.
Destroy the most-harmful units first and ignore artillery until you are ready to take care of them.

So I removed my Air Defense factory and Assault Tank factory.
And replaced them with two Attack Helicopter Bases.

I have over 50 unattached AA guns and Assault Tanks.
Also my 3 Champion Retreats provide me with Contemporary Era Heavy Units.
So by the time those are built, and with the 5 year event pieces, I'll have even more Attack bonus.
I had to permanently remove one of my Strike Team Centers to make room for the King and Queen set.

And that little project is done.
From start to finish in a couple of days.
I began using my 72 hour 75% construction speed boost from my Tavern, when this began.

boosts.png

It's almost out of time.

During the last couple days I did my best Genghis Khan.
I'm in Contemporary Era, and this is my Tomorrow Era map as it stands now.

have to negotiate the rest.png

The first Arrow on the bottom right, is the first territory I conquered in the time between the 5th Anniversary Event, and the Cherry Garden.
From there, I did a massive, Madcap Zany Bull Run with my troops, while enjoying my massive attack bonus.

The second, smaller star near the top center of the image, is as far as I got with pure combat, using my unattached units for the most part.
The losses were heavy, 100s of my units perished, but I made it as far as I wanted.
My goal was to conquer as much as I could, then negotiate the rest until Future Era.

I had to negotiate most of the territory marked with a two-tone diamond.
The last territory highlighted with wild, crazy arrows, must be negotiated.

This is my city on 4/17/2017.
Contemporary Era goods production.
4 17 2017.png

Then I activated the 72 hours 75% faster building construction Tavern Boost, and made Praxis City ready for battle.
It was only for a couple of days.

I went back to goods production just now, but not Contemporary Era goods.

4 21 2017 back to production and making PME while in CE P.png

I'm making Postmodern Era goods, from the Era behind me.
Why?
The Contemporary Era goods I can produce are not in high demand.
When I made PME goods, I could trade off all I produced, three eras up, or three eras down.
G.B.s and trade will cover my need for unrefined.

5 Buildings to make Renewable Resources.
4 Buildings to make Genome Data.
6 Buildings to make Semiconductors.

Easy trade all day.
I need Tomorrow Era goods, and it'll be easier for me to trade PME goods for them, compared to Contemporary.
Players rarely collect all the PME goods they will need, before leaving Postmodern Era.
Then they get tech-locked and have to wait while they gather.

450 Postmodern Era goods a day.
140 PME goods = 100 Tomorrow Era goods, according to Fair Trade calculations.

That, with what I already have stockpiled, will allow me to negotiate.
All the way to, and a little past, the Future Era PvP tower territory.
And those delicious Future Era Units I'll earn from quests, and use in combat.

While I'm in a Contemporary Era neighborhood.

I can built 70 of them in my city once, took them down to farm other units from my Alcatraz and I can still finish GE4 without them with this attack bonus: http://prntscr.com/eyi5sp. So if I have them on my attack bonus will be 220-550 with level 104 AO, defense city with 900 def still can be breached, but I will lose most of my unit lol. You need massive population and space to build 70stc as it costs 2100 per barrack (147k population and run 100% happiness)

I don't make a single goods production since CE came out, I have more than enough from just doing quests.

Ardak you prob should speed over to future and farm quests with the hqs. I know you have strong opinions but you could increase your efficiency by a lot with different decisions
