Does anyone know why they decided to redesign and rename that building? I kind of liked the dynamic tower graphic.

And it probably will never be built...for several reasons. Dubai is so over-constructed that going ahead with this project simply isn’t practical. Not that being impractical ever stopped a Dubai sheikh from doing anything. Also, the sand is as fine as baby powder in the UAE. Having a massive, moving structure is an engineering nightmare. I’ll bet there was some pressure exerted by the sheikh who owns the project. They really, really don’t like to be embarrassed in public.

More likely a 5 year licensing agreement that expired. TE was introduced April 16 2015.
